    Graham vs Giles

Graham should win, but the single wing will give the Graham defense a hard time. Bluefield ran all over Graham, and Tazewell broke a couple of big runs last week and picked up a good amount of yards running the ball. Should be another competitive and close game between these two great programs.

Thoughts? I think Graham should win but they've yet to find groove and get that defense together. Line is weak which was a problem last year too. I think on one of the podcasts , the guys predicted "bridesmaid again". I tend to agree if they cannot get things shored up better on defense. Tony said they played horrible defense against Tazewell in BDT, I agree. Overall, Graham is good but a "good" Graham won't beat a Union or Ridgeview in playoffs. I admit I don't know that much about Giles.

  4. Staunton River fires head coach two weeks into the season. Poor folks in Moneta apparently aren't familiar with the term anomaly. (As in, "Your performance during the last two seasons under Poston was an anomaly. You can go back to sucking pretty badly now.") Fear the Wing -- or the Principal and AD (as the case may be)

Knew it wasn't a tax burden? I would like to know where you think that state money comes from? I guess you think that the lottery still pays for all of that. I guess that you also need to do some research in how far Virginia is behind the rest of the country in paying its teachers. I also find it asinine that the people move out of the community to keep from paying VA taxes, yet want to send their students back across the border. Wonder why they complain about the football facility. Just a thought.

    Over the past 5 years the shoemaker number (PK-6) are as follows 17-18 - 565 16-17 - 621 15-16 -625 14-15 - 568 13-14 - 593 Weber City numbers are 17-18 - 329 16-17 - 326 15-16 -340 14-15 - 331 13-14 - 346 It looks to me like an infusion of about 4 dozen kids will bring GC back in line with there 13-14 Numbers so I am sure the room for the kids is defiantly there

I say come one, come all. haha During the consolidation debate, people used to go nuts talking about all the out of county kids going to Wise Co schools. Didn't have a clue that it was a benefit, not a detriment. I would take any transfer I could get, especially if they play football. 🙂

Knew it was not a tax burden. Is why the county has always allowed them to come to Scott tuition free. Makes sense...........as long as you have a place to put them. My kids went to Weber City. Am very familiar with the TN kids that have always been a fixture there. Know a lot of them and their families. Most of those kids end up going to GC, and some of them end up playing sports. Is why it is so funny to me to hear about "all" of those TN kids that go to GC to play sports. Again.........not trying to argue. Know I take things too literally at times.

HMMMMMM....unless he is catching a pass, you don't have to "throw a rb shirt on him in key situations"

Like I said, you should never be allowed to pick a coach. Especially since you quit.

I'll be shocked if the margin is that big. This game will be closer than most expect. Graham will score their share but I'm not sure that the G "D" will keep the one-wingers out of the endzone enough to make the spread that large.

I agree... At least throw a rb shirt on him in key situations, such as the 2pt attempt last week. #50 is playing good and maybe we can get #52 back.

I think this game can be a really good contest, with the issues Graham is having around consistency playing, I see yaw staying close in the first half but eventually Graham pulling away in the fourth quarter. 35-21

If ETSU slumps this year, and UVA Wise also, i could see Havok getting Ram season tickets next year.

I don't think that the fans should ever pick a head coach.

I would like to see Giles keep it within 14 but I'm not sure that will happen. Giles doesn't have the speed or experience to defend dual threat qbs, and Allen will be the best one we play this season.

We need 55 back at full back. What little he run the ball against GW in the scrimmage was for good gains. I really wish we would line up in the T or I with him at fb.

Your posts are always great! You have such overwhelming knowledge of every situation. Let me get this straight, because guys that coach aren’t from GC, they can’t coach. Harry Fry was from Lee County? I believe that is correct. Nick Colobro wasn’t from GC either. A few years ago, you said that Houseright didn’t need the job. Then you said he needed a chance. Make up your mind. How do you know that the guys coaching now don’t try to instill discipline? How do you know Coach doesn’t watch film or work at all? It is easy to sit in mommy’s basement and criticize. Maybe you should apply for the job, since you played there. I guess that an “outsider” took the job to completely “ruin” the program. I very seriously doubt that too. I would bet that you were an all state performer? Hahaha! Nope! I would go out on a limb and say you weren’t even an all district performer. You have made the comment that you don’t go to games any longer either. You know for someone that bleeds blue, you sure do nothing but run everything into the ground. I saw where you criticized the basketball coach last year too. I guess you got tired of taking mommy to the games with you. Just come on up to wine and cheese country on Friday. I’m sure you can find some place good to eat that your mom would like.
