I would think that GW's blowout win over Marion got the attention of Chilhowie. GW has frustrated Chilhowie over the years. I think some thought GW would be down this year, but not so fast. GW is very skilled, quick, and well coached. Chilhowie had better play good defense, and execute on offense. If GW's QB has time to throw, CHS May find themselves in a shootout, something no one would want with GW. Chilhowie 35 GW 30

Actually, last night was a case of too much water too fast. On Bland Road, off of Cumberland Rd., water was coming up out of the water drains. Bland Road was a river and water was flowing through the front yards of the houses along the road. My FIL measured 3.25" of rain in about an hour last night from 6:30-7:30, and all that water flowed down to College Avenue and then to Bluefield, VA.

Well, we got the answer yesterday...waste of money...this is the exact area that was "fixed"...

Can the best Region D 1A team beat the best 2A Region D team this year?

If Union fans are expecting to roll over RV, you're gonna be in for a rude awakening. RV is much better at the LOS, and the three headed monster of Adkins, Sexton and Sproles are electric. If Union doesn't play their A-game, we will lose. Period. Union should have an advantage at the LOS with our line play but this is a very, very good RV team. Best they've ever had. Union continues to evolve on offense, Bailey threw two absolute dimes for TDs Friday but RV isn't Letcher, they have speed for days and are good at the LOS. Going into another hostile environment, the Bears can't make mistakes and expect just to coast on talent. Adkins is getting D1 looks for a reason, he's a special athlete. Not that Union doesn't have some special skill kids like Jenkins and Polier, but I'm saying Ridgeview is very good and Union can't afford to not be their best.

Since Union and Ridgeview both have a strong running game. Who do you think has the advantage in the rain?

Do you see an central Virginia advantage during the playoffs and state title games due to the state game being in Salem every year, and do you think we can go back to the rotating region title games at a well equiped college/ high school like UVA at Wise or Wise Central,Richlands, Ridgeveiw

Yeah. Webb wears 4. He played against Union. That kid will be great. And his QB the next three years will be good as well. Already 6’4 as a freshman and has the smarts to run the offense with a developing arm.

GW offensively is better than last year. The difference in GW this year is the QB is a leader that has been missing the past 3 years. The QB is also a much better QB than we have had in a long time. This QB is a lot of fun to watch play. He gives 110% on every play and he expects his teammates to do the same; and they do. Leadership is what it's all about. Regardless of talent, if you don't have a leader ; at best you are only going to be an average team.
