Just like last season at GC, he could not do enough to satisfy some. He is starting on a D1 team, that should shut some up, but it hasn't.

Riverheads isn’t exactly known for its passing attack.

Because the poster may be from Saltville. Chilhowie is going to give Riverheads major problems and may win the game.

I think Duke wins the title, but.......Gonzaga was without it's guard and best player against Duke and had a 14 point lead at one point. The one issue with a young team like that is the ability to play defense for 40 minutes. Duke played for 10. Can they play for 40?

Don't be surprised if Goochland beats East Rockingham. East Rockingham beat a good Riverheads team, but don't be fooled by that area. Their schedule isn't as tough as many think. Central Woodstock, Clark County, RE Lee, Luray and those schools are not a better caliber than Goochland. It's a common thing where one of those 2A schools out there puts up big numbers each year, be it Clarke, Central, Stuarts Draft or Wilson Memorial in the past, only to not win it. When a Region C school like Radford, Giles, Glenvar, Appo, or Gretna puts up big number in the regular season, play close attention to it because they are going to be dangerous. When a Region B school puts up big numbers, I pay attention, but I just don't take it as serious. I've seen it to many times. Goochland in Region A has 2 titles in the past 12 years. Never count out Region C. That region with Radford, Appo, and the rest is tough and has won 5 titles in a row and 8 out of 11 at the 2A level. The best two teams left may be in the West and whether it's Graham or Radford, both can beat either one in the East.

This is where I am. Graham is a nightmare matchup for Radford, as Radford has had problems at times containing downfield passing attacks with dynamic athletes. Anything can happen, but Graham should be favored. As for East Rockingham, I seem to remember a lot of the same comparisons made about King George in 1995...

Thats what i was thinking I honestly wasn't sure. I know he coached wrestling then quit when he got the head coaching job he then had the wrestling team kicked out of the room that was made for them so he could use it as a weight room for football team.

His credentials are he is friends with Collins. I was hoping for a change after Collins’ retirement, not looking good.

I thought after the Collins left there would be a coaching change. The coach should take it upon himself and leave, what credentials did he have coaching wise? I know he played college ball but as he a head coach anywhere else, assistant, etc?

With a schedule like that we will be battle tested for sure might even outpoint the mighty warriors for the 1 seed they are going to get next year lol.

Prior to McAmis getting hurt I had Central pegged as the second best team. I think it’s wide open now between Central, Union and Abingdon. Who replaves 20+ points and handles the ball for Central? Is Slagle back to form and does Union have enough depth? Can Abingdon play to its potential? Battle should be scrappy, Lee will love and die (mostly) by the 3 and Ridgeview will spend all winter trying to figure out how they didn’t win a regional football title.

I’m no so sure about that. From what I’ve seen and heard, Riverheads isn’t better than what they were last year. Chilhowie, however, is markedly better. Now, does that close a 6 TD gap enough? We’ll see. But I think Chilhowie (and maybe even Galax) has a very real shot in Salem.

Why are you being so salty towards Chilhowie? I don't get why you are already saying this when they havent even made it that far yet. Have you had a chance to watch riverheads this year, or just going based off their schedule? If you have. Instead of jumping to conclusions. Why not just give us your opinion based on what you saw from them?

Unlike last year, this is far from accurate. Chilhowie would absolutely push Riverheads to the brink.

All good points, However I don't see current coaching staff changing anytime soon. I did, however thing that after the Principal left we might would have seen a change but apparently that's not gonna happen. Who knows maybe we can get in the mix of the possibility of getting Adkins from Ridgeview LOL.

Hard to say much when you've lost by a combined total of 83-10. Richlands may have made it more respectable, but it's clear the better team won

Definitely Chilhowie's toughest test but they are hungry for a chance at that state title again, I'd say it will be close but Chilhowie prevails at home.

I agree, that series was a killer for Richlands. We can throw "whatifs" around all night long but the only thing that matters is the score when the board hits 00:00. Richlands gave a valiant effort. Graham is just better.

The Richlands folks don't seem to be as good natured as you Union guys about losing to Graham. You can't kid with them at all. 😂 Seriously, sounds like Union will have a good team from what I've read here, Graham should too even without Cam. Hopefully, Richlands too. All top notch programs and maybe I'll make it to the fire pit next time.

This is the first true test Chilhowie has met all season. I don’t think Galax is consistent enough to play Chilhowie toe-to-toe how Chilhowie wants the game played. I’d say Chilhowie by 2 TDs.

I agree with that, however you should be able to somewhat gauge the level of talent you are going to have at the varsity level. You shouldn’t go from total domination one year to being out coached the next.

Richland was about to make a game out if it until that very series of downs you are talking about. That INT broke their back and killed the momentum!

Cam Allen is the wild card. Having him in the huddle gives you a chance against any team you play.

Central doesn't win the mountain anytime soon. But they can place 10-15 on the all Conference team next year. Everybody can.
