Cricket: An insect of the family of Gryllidae, The Gryllidae have mainly cylindrical bodies, round heads and long antennae. They are related to bush crickets and distantly to grasshoppers.

  4. I’m hearing a lot of kids are already buying in (that haven’t played football in awhile) and it hasn’t even been a week. Amazing how hiring one guy can boost moral and change the whole outlook of a program. Jeremy is super excited and ready to get to work. I guess the next question is who will be the assistants and coordinators.

Games for tomorrow (Tues 12/11) have been pushed back a day to Wed (12/12). It’s still a super with a 4pm JV girls tip.

  6. The addition of Raley, Edwards and Meadows (who played a limited role due to injury) made a huge difference for Graham. Who cares who would win now. Graham did what they needed to do and won when it counted. Good luck next year to both. I wish they would play the big game at the end of the season personally. Anybody who cant see the huge improvement in Graham this year is as blind as a bat.

  7. All teams improve usually, but a few improve much greater than others on a given season. That's applicable to both Graham and Bluefield in 2017 and 2018. Graham improved to the point that if they Bluefield at seasons end this year, it would be a close game (I think). Last year, Bluefield beats Graham by 21+ points Easily at seasons end, yet the game went down to the one yard line in 2017. Bluefield improved at an alarmingly high level compared to every team in the area in 2017. Congrats to both schools who represented the area well and I'm sure will do the same thing next year. Next year, I think the Beavers are favored (time will tell) because Graham will be breaking in a host of new starters on the OL, and Bluefields DL will be solid, and early on that can matter. The matchup favors Bluefield, but that's a long way away and things can change, and Graham's defense will keep them in it and give em a chance

  8. I wouldn't put GC in the playoffs but with the right offseason program and kids buying in, GC can make an impact sooner rather than later. I'm excited and hopeful on the future of the program.

  10. It only lists 3 ninth graders. That might be the difference if the rest of them were dressed out too. https://catalog.e-digitaleditions.com/i/1056710-2018-vhsl-football-championships/0?

  11. Exactly this! Everyone should just be happy regardless of which side of the Bluefields they are on. This all is just speculation that we all will never know and don't mean a thing. I know I'm ecstatic that Graham brought home a title this year because I see it as one for the whole community. Save all of the Bluefield/Graham comparison chatter for the last week in August lol.

  13. Well, that's not much more then, guess my eyeballs were frozen shut or something. Or I'm just a really bad estimator.

  14. I don't think Bluefield could have beat Graham if they played week 10 ....The g -men grew up a lot from week 1 to the end...

  15. My daughter and I measured just under 20 inches at around 5pm. That should go nicely with the 30 inches of rain we’ve had in the past 90 days when it begins to melt.

  16. I hate Chilhowie didn't win as you all picked but glad Brady was on point about Graham and Ryan and Coach Duble were wrong. Graham dominated! Enjoyed both the interviews!

  17. Our area is always looked down by upstate. We owe it to each other to ride together when one of our teams plays for a state title. They aren't just representing their school, but representing us all.
