  3. Any clue about coaches yet, getting late in the game to not have someone in place? I know Stanley is interim, but have to have some applicants Haven’t heard anything out of Lebanon and Northwood
  4. Ok, I understand that, but do you know there weren’t any adjustments or did you just observe that it looked the same. There are a lot of factors go into a game plan I am sure, like personnel. If they had switched to a 40 or 50 front, but had small guys in because they didn’t have size to do it, would that have been better? If your best players are more suited for a 3-3 or 3-5, is it better to leave them or put them in something they can’t play in just for The sake of saying you adjusted something. I am truly not trying to sound like a prick, if I do I apologize, just having a conversation about what I saw on NFHS. I wasn’t there, but I can only imagine what goes into a game plan at these size schools for these big games. And in game adjustments when you are getting beat 48-13. Does 42-13 or 34-13 change anything. As a fan, and a follower of Union from a distance, I try not to question what coaches do because we as fans don’t know what goes on at their practice. And to say let’s start a petition to get rid of someone on a chatroom to me is crazy.
  5. I agree, 2014 NCAA had a better game plan than 22 Madden. As for the 3 man front, that seems to be everyones argument as to why you lost the game. Let’s say in the second half when it was 28-13, you jumped to a 50 front to stop the QB run, guess what happens then? They throw to Bradshaw everytime and there isn’t a human on Unions team who can stop it. Or let’s say a 40 front, you can still double Bradshaw, but then still really nothing you can do to stop the run, because they just manhandled you up front. So 3 man, 4 man, 5 man front it wouldn’t have mattered. The fact of the matter is that the 1st time you played them you had Honeycutt and Bishop, losing those two killed you. The T wasn’t as effective without that 3rd good back and losing Bishop on the line killed you. And don’t forget you lost your strongest and best defensive lineman to injury in the 1st half of this game. Union was an 8-4 team that some think under achieved, but realistically whenever they played Graham Semi’s or finals, the season was ending. GRAHAM WAS THE BETTER TEAM Don't take a PE or Art degree to figure that one out
  6. How exactly would you have stopped Graham?
  7. Sounds to me like the fans of Union have all the problems figured out, Turner should listen to them and see how things go haha.
  8. Union plays in a very tough district and also plays Richlands and Graham. So they play Burton and TW, which are not powerhouse 2A teams, but Burton could be top half of Mountain 7 any year, beating Gate City, Lee, and Battle then could sneak up and upset someone in top half. Burton will win 8 games this season minimum, and TW based on schedule could win 5-6 each year. So Union will get 26-28 points for beating TW and 32 for beating Burton. That’s quite a bit more than 20 for beating GC, 22 for beating Battle, and 18 for beating Lee. If I were them, I would pick up Eastside too and get about 26-28 more. But you are right, play Science Hill or Elizabethton and lose, get about 20 power points, lose spots in seeding, but it’s all good because your schedule looked tougher haha

  13. I don’t know what game you watched, but Grundy didn’t score a touchdown the entire night. Thomas Walker looked terrible against Central, but scored 2 or 3 on Grundy.
  14. You are correct, TW did speak with Hurley after Harlan mixed dates. Harlan changed to another date which was the date Hurley had. 4 hours on a bus to play a 4-6 team or 50 minutes on a bus to play a 4-6 team is what that comes down to. Not a knock on Hurley at all, but again location kills both schools.
  15. I haven't argued it isn't a weaker single A schedule. I understand it leaves a lot to be desired from a standpoint of competition. However, does a team go from winning 2 games 3 years ago, and immediately look to schedule a juggernaut group, no, they win for a few years and build the program up. I don't say back up, because it has never been up. I, along with any other fan of Thomas Walker, will tell you they have a long way to go, but they are working at it the same way Hurley did for years. You said they went and scheduled tougher teams, not until they had played that same schedule for 5 or 6 years. Then they went 10-0 and scheduled tougher teams. Thomas Walker was 2-8 2 years ago, played the same schedule the last cycle, went 6-5 and 7-4. This cycle they tried to schedule more Va. teams, but no one wants to come to Ewing, so there in is one of the main problems. I just don't understand all the hatred for a small Single A school all the time, from a fan of the AA State Champions. You say I poked the bear, I simply said make fun of the schedule because you always have something to say about it. Is the schedule hard, nope, but for a school in the middle of nowhere, struggling for money, 25-30 players on a good year, who has a history of not winning, I think it is pretty measurable for now. If winning continues and 6 years from now they don't play any better teams, I will say you told us so.
