I don't mean this to be disrespectful in any way....and Mance and his staff are truly fantastic...arguably the best all around coaching staff in SWVa and one of the top in the state of VA. However, it is well known in addition to his "cultivation" Mance recruits his fanny off....with the coal industry dying the way it is how can we legitimately say he isn't recruiting when you have players moving into RICHLANDS from Florida and other states....Also how many players are from WV, Tazewell, and elsewhere. Some schools don't graduate....they reload.....other schools like um "cough" Richlands don't graduate....they recruit!!! So if Mance really want's to get that next Ring he needs to offer up the OC job and give him the chief of police job to Graham's head Coach and let him bring his own personal recruit over in Jamora Cousin. Cousin in that offensive scheme with an effective passing attack and as solid as the rest of the RIchlands game is would be straight lethal!!!

FACT: Gents Appomatox plays Amherst the last game of the regular season and from a very good source I trust...they don't have a snowballs chance. Amherst beat Brookeville who at the time was the top rated team in 3A. This should allow Glenvar and Richlands to move up to the 2 and 3 seeds and if things pan out the way they should make the possibility of a Union vs. Richlands match-up a possibility if both teams take care of business. Also I have heard through the Grapevine that GC doesn't make playoffs regardless of the outcome Friday. Personally I will be rooting on the side of Central not bc we (Union) are afraid of them (Gate City), but it would be nice to see GC miss the playoffs as a whole...I would like to also stress and remind all those who think that Richlands is better than Union that arguably the most dangerous player for the Bears in RaaShaun Noaks did not play in the game and the Bears still prevailed. Would be great to see the rematch though for all the chips in Salem. This week is a very dangerous game for Union because they are traveling out of state and the officiating plus the fact Letcher needs to win to get in the KY playoffs so they will be very desperate and unpredictable. Simply put we can't allow the game to be close enough to where we allow our fate to be put in the hands of out of state officiating. Take care of business boys!!

Union's schedule is no slouch either...and there are many schools with a tougher schedule than Essex...

Fun Fact #2 Union's JV is 5-0 and has a PF 182 - PA 26 point differential....All of those points against with the exception of 6 (which came after a 90yd int return against LEE on 4th down from 5 yards out) came in garbage time. Looks like both programs are strong all the way through and going to be for a while to come. Just a fun fact: Richlands 2nd team/JV defense has not given up a touchdown in over 5 quarters of play this season. I thought that was an interesting stat.
