  1. Galax should have wanted a few more points evidently. You just never know in a rivalry game. One of the best games I've watched in a long time. Hats off to this Grayson bunch for a nice win.
  2. Galax somehow managed to bring their whole roster last Friday and find the stadium, but it clearly wasn't enough. Heck of a ballgame to watch. Congratulations to the Blue Devils.
  3. Just ask Alleghany (NC). Spurlin obviously being the biggest. I think at least one from George Wythe also.
  4. The problem with the bermuda field at Grayson County has been some maintenance issues, which I'm told has now been addressed, but also soccer. Looks like they practice in the same spots everyday which kill big patches of the grass. At least they could move around some seems like.
  5. An impressive crowd at a baseball game is nice and I'm glad that there was to support the players. The original point you were making was GC baseball attendance was routinely higher than GC football attendance, not home vs. visiting attendance. But your assessment that there are more people who routinely attend Grayson baseball games (only home fans or combined) than Grayson football games (only home fans or combined) is just simply not accurate. As a lifelong Grayson Co. fan I will continue to support both programs and hope each success.
  6. From what I've heard from the Grayson people who went to Richlands this year the two are in a little different situation. From the huge home side, field turf, huge field house, etc. the visitor bleachers would just apparently finish off their super nice facilities. Grayson needs these updates to literally function and provide a safe place for players and fans. You can only kick the can down the road so far until there's nothing left of the can...which is what is going to happen to our football facilities eventually...then that will cost them even more.
  7. It is a shame that Grayson has allowed the bleachers to get so bad. Maybe this is what it took for them to actually invest something into to football program. The lights also need to be replaced seeing how they are leaning to an ugly and dangerous level and also after they went out at halftime during a game and stayed off for about 3 hours. Having been in Grayson my whole life I don't want to hear about not having money for it. Other schools similar to Grayson have gotten grants and other funding for these types of projects. So far it just hasn't been a priority. Sounds like thanks to the new superintendent and some of the new school board members it now will be finally.
  8. Narrows had Grayson beat??? Not sure what you were watching or heard but not true. Not sure what "key injuries" you're talking about either. Grayson started a little slow but was never in doubt.
