Found an interesting article in the July 1999 edition of The Bluefield Gazette. Seems Appalachia’s Tom Tuner and Powell Valley’s Phil Robbin we’re invited to Bluefield to be speakers at a high school football coaches clinic. Both coaches fell ill with stomach problems and ended up taking many 💩 in town. And just like that, Wv high school football was born! Who knew that the fecal matter of two vhsl hall of game coaches was enough to bring life to Wv high school football. 😂

What is it with you Wv people and name calling. Such grown ups. Embrace what you want. Now days, you can embrace anything you want. I’m guessing talk isn’t all you embrace.

Did I ask you to stop? Nope. I just don’t now down to bluefield and worship their football program like some around that way. And you know why. Because VIRGINIA teams are discussed on here too and will continue to be whether you like it our not!

I could give two cares less about Wv high school football. I get on here to keep up with Virginia teams.

Name calling 🤣. Must have struck a nerve. Wow. Chill. It’s a high school game pal. They are not going to shut down high school football because the beaver dam broke tonight. Union and Appo were superior last year. PERIOD. Look in the mirror with a strait face and tell me any different. Look. It is what it is. WV football does not have the competition of va. But if your “God of WV football” struggles with Va teams that can’t win their region then how good are they. In all honsety, it’s like comparing the ‘72 Dolphins to the ‘85 Bear. There is no true way to tell other than opinion and speculation.

A Wv state title is about the same as a Virginia Reguon D title. Last years Appo and Union spank Bluefield. Giles prolly wins too. This year, Bluefield prolly wins against two of the three. God, enough is enough.

Ethan Mullins held back in 8th grade, along with a large number of other players that year. Non the less, he is extremely fun to watch and quite talented. Not taking anything from him by pointing out that he held back. He’s a good, humble kid.

Yep. That’s me. After the game, I also posted that I stood corrected and cogratulated graham on their win. That’s what men do. Admit they were wrong. Got no problem with it. I also said Union would beat everyone by two scores in the region D playoffs in football this past season (Richlands almost spoiled the party. Much respect Blue Tornados!) and I heard about it. Didn’t pack up my tent and leave the forum. So what if graham does win. So what if someone, such as yourself, decides to call me out on it. Even after I admit I spoke incorrectly. Is it gonna change my kids birthday? Will my paycheck change? Nope. I’ll congratulate them, again, and cheer them on in the title game. Come one man. We are a bunch of has been a talking about high school sports. Just so happens we have had some special talent concentrated in Southwest Va this year that has brought this place to a fever pitch. That’s great. We need that in an area where some of these kids will come home from practice to find out mom or dad just got laid off. Or they have to move because the mines closed. In short. If your gonna quote my past post. Quote the whole thing. Don’t try to look good in front of your pals. Be a man. Do three minutes of research. You’ll find all you need to see.

It’s the VHSL. I get that graham plays their football games in WV due to that being their home field. But they are having to pick a site now. This is the Virginia state playoffs. Keep it here in Virginia. Wv has their playoffs. Radford college sold out. Most small colleges will fill up. VT would be cool. Vhsl is too worried about losing a buck. Uva wise held pretty good but favors gc more location wise. Prolly suite gc not to play there again based on their shooting. I look for gc to lay wood to graham this time though. Regardless the winner, I’ll cheer them on in the title game!

We all know that’s @HowTheWestWasWon2017 😂. Radford this and radford that. How about Radfords going on to baseball season.

I didn’t go. I’m shocked at the outcome. What happened. I’ve saw graham play twice this year. Was not super impressed with them. Have seen gc play plenty. Always sloppy in first qtr then hit their stride. Seems like graham figured out something that worked. Great coaching. Funny on Twitter how a central coach was claiming the real championship game was last night 😂. Anyway, I’m guessing Scotty will make the needed adjustments if a rematch happens. I don’t think an upset happens twice. But for the time being...congrats graham. Go celebrate.

I’ll be the first to correct myself. Graham lates lumger to gc. Congrats. A rematch will be interesting though. But congrats region d champs. Good luck to both down the road.

Note the last line. I mentioned I do t now a lot about wva sports. Back to back titles in wva or any state is sweet! Same question. And in fairness, how much of a measuring stick is the swd in hoops. I played baseball and basketball at Appy too. Not what we were known for. Off topic though.

With respect, this sounds like the same story we heard in football. How graham was a better match up for appo and would beat Union because we couldn’t handle their speed or cover the pass. We saw how well that went. Im not trash in graham. They have a couple explosive players, and a solid team. As for Bluefield. Let’s be honest, if they had to compete in Va, would they be that good? Honest question because I don’t know much about wva teams. And if they win, I’ll pull for em down the road. But gc has three d1 recruits. Graham may have trouble with central. They like to run and press a lot. That’ll be a good game. Gc lost one senior from last season. They lost to eventual champ in ot. These guys have played highly competitive aau in the off season. If they don’t win, I’ll be shocked. But that’s why you play the games right. I hope to see the gc vs graham game. It’ll be fun.
