Houseright has made a phenomenal difference with the RC defense. He also brings enthusiasm to their entire program and that is what the kids need. Kids need structrue, discipline, accountablity, enthusiasm, and a HC that not only cares about just winning, but about building a solid program that will help draw more kids out to play FB! This is what every FB program needs! I hope the powers that be have taken notice of how much he has helped the RC program when it comes time to place a new HC at GC.

FB is unpredictable. As we seen this past summer wtih several schools/coaches making changes in late summer this season. Would like to see Houseright given a chance at the HC job before someonelse steps in and offers him a great deal somehwere else.

The whispers are going around that Reed will automatically be given the HC position. No offense or disrespect to Reed, the man can coach and can turn a program around. However, he gave up his HC position at Abingdon for a DC position at GC. The GC HC job should not just be handed to him. The GC HC job should be advertised and all respectable and qualified coaches should be allowed to apply and interview. Hopefully the SB will advertise this job when it come open. Again, no disrespect to Reed. There are many assistant coaches not only in Scott County, but other counties that have an HC job as their ultimate goal. It does not matter that GC has had a losing streak the last few years. If the HC job at GC is advertised, you can bet many coaches in the area will apply!

The football season is already underway and and we all know that the powers that be won’t be making any HC changes during the season. Any HC would probably not hurt the GC program more than it’s already suffering. However, I do hope they give Houseright the HC job once the season is over. He has rapport with the kids and would also try to get the youth program turned around and encourage the younger kids to play. We need not only a knowledgeable person in the HC position, but a person that will bring enthusiasm back to our programs as well.
