This is insane and what’s wrong with sports right now you got kids quit because someone gets a job. People do not realize how hard it is to find coaches period! And we want to quit because someone is on staff. You already had one head coach step down because the star player wanted threatened to leave. It’s stupid back in the day your coach was your coach and you listened and got coached by him. If you didn’t like them you suck it up and play because of your teammates and love for the sport. And parents didn’t let them quit either

Wait what coach got threatened ?   I think people are burnt out on the mccamis family.  I guess that's the Isaiah they are talking about.  Kids only get 4 yrs in high school.  A lot more activities to do these day beside deal with one families involvement in everything

    John Marshall girls won 60-38.

I'd say Dotson will show himself the door after this season.  That's in no way knocking him.  He is one of the best folks around.  But why stick around to play against this?

She did. They have multiple criteria on how they do it. The order is:

    Winning percentage
    Number of wins
2023 VHSL Girls Championship finishing place
    Record vs. girls this season

The 1 seed in that bracket is like 32-6 to Portia's 25-11. Those two have the most wins in that bracket -- but there are several girls who are 10-2 or 12-5 (for example) that got seeded higher by percentages. She'll be a threat to make the semi's from that 10 seed for sure. She's a helluva wrestler.

It seems this is an issue for the tournament.  Seeding being all jacked up among other things.  I know track has auto seeds but it could be done better

And people want to say combine 1 and 2? Could you imagine how hard it would be to get out of 1D/2D? Sheesh! A&B would love that because they're still getting more kids while d would be leaving better kids at home, again.

That would be better than forfeits and the caliber of wrestling overall.  After the top 2 in most weight classes there is a pretty decent drop off it seems.

Congrats to all local teams.  Grundy with that many left is expected and of course, stands out, but that's Grundy.  Central Wise is the one that kind of jumps off the page at me.  9 left and of that 9, 8 of the 9 are the semi's.  That's alarmingly impressive and around the state in wrestling circles, most thought is was Strasburg and Poquoson followed by Central and the rest.  It appears that's not the case.  Again, credit to all teams who have done well like Union, Galax, Richlands, Grayson and more, but Central really surprises me.  I knew they were good, but.....dam@.

Central had i think a 120 freshman I think 120 no one was giving much of a chance that won it  Also a hall kid made it to the finals.  I thought he out wrestled Potter but anyways his dad a a 2 or 3 time finalist for Kelly back in the day

Finally starting to see the fruits of the youth wrestling club. They just started it 5 years ago, so you’re staring to see those kids who were young when it started move up to middle school and early high school. They’ve had over 60 kids go to tournaments multiple times this season. I’m excited to see the growth another 5 years from now.

yeh man ,  Im also seeing some names that remind me of Grundy.    Castlewood has been producing good wrestlers in the coal counties.  Central may be getting back to that

Richlands ended up placing 9th. Went 3-1 on the weekend. First team from Tazewell County to ever place in the VA Duels. Huge honor. Wish we could have gotten a different draw than Poquoson in that first round to see what would have happened.

Richlands coach is doing good things there
