techfan 43 Report Share Posted November 19, 2005 I have been a Richlands fan since I can remember and played 3 years there myself but must admit I was a little embarrassed last night. Not by the guys on the field they played their hearts out in a clean game weren't cocky or showboating. I was embarrassed by a group of fans sitting around me who continually harrassed a player on the other team. I think it was taken to far and I know that people will say he started it by taunting the crowd but these were grown men taunting a kid (it would be different if he was a college player or professional) for four quarters when they were up by 30+ points. How would you have felt if you had been his parents or him. I just wanted to get this display of poor sportsmanship off my chest.

lee 10 Report Share Posted November 20, 2005 it was like come on 33 it was because he tatunted the other game and the ref thing was like when the ref left the flag out on the ground for about 3-4 mins he was saying its at your feet, do you need help, its yellow, you just havta bend over, just leave it there and so on untill he picked it up
litltiger 17 Report Share Posted November 20, 2005 thats low class and the reason that their are several ppl that dislike the blues.i heard some fans making fun of the lebanon band and it kinda bothered me to.i sure hope the kids dont do this stuff because its a big turnoff when you want to pull for them in the playoffs.i think the players and fans both can celebrate in a way that they dont have to belittle someone else.the bottom line is its just a game and definetley not worth hurting a kid thats doin his best. techfan 43 Author Report Share Posted November 20, 2005 The referee thing did not bother me at all the officials are adults and are fair game as far as I am concerned. To be an official you have to have tough skin and know that you are going to take some criticism. But to ride the kid #33 the way they did was pointless. He knew that they were yelling at him too he looked up everytime he came over to the richlands side of the field. Like I said before these weren't other high school kids doing the yelling these were adults.

bluekick 11 Report Share Posted November 20, 2005 [ QUOTE ] thats low class and the reason that their are several ppl that dislike the blues. Â [/ QUOTE ] Â This crap doesn't just come from Richlands. I walked over to the Graham side during that game this year and a fan started clapping and said, "Hey, Richlands, you suck." And last night some of the VHS band members were telling our band that we sucked.

MAROON 10 Report Share Posted November 27, 2005 I can see why the fans attitudes would bother you. Last night at the Graham game, one of the field crew guys was threatening some Lebanon football players that were sitting on Graham's side. He sent the police over to tell them that they would be escorted out of the stadium if they didn't behave. They were just sitting there. They had yelled at the RHS players when they were on the field; but nothing out of line for football rivals (just headgames saying they were there supporting Graham, going to watch the Blues go down, etc). However, after the police told them to be on their best behavior, some guy in brown coveralls came over and started yelling at them and telling them he would see them after the game. Said they were in his house and he would take care of their manners. These were 16-17 year old kids! This guy gave "redneck" a new meaning! I sure hope this was just some jerk that doesn't have a kid playing for Richlands, because I would hate to think he has any influence over the young people of Richlands. Â On a brighter note, I agree, the boys on the field seemed to be there to play ball and showed great sportmanship. Good luck for the next two weeks! MrsCola 10 Report Share Posted November 27, 2005 These young men were saying horrible things to the blues players and to the mothers that were holding the balloons to be released before the game. They were yelling terrible things (that I will not repeat) to the mothers of the blues players before the game. I am a mother of a blues player and these kids were from lebanon. This type of behavior should not be allowed in the stadium. If this were just kids trying to cheer on graham I would be embarassed to say they were cheering for my team. We as mothers asked the security to speak to the young men after the things they were yelling at us.

bluenecknation 17 Report Share Posted November 28, 2005 just goes to show that the bad sportsmanship issue happens at every other place, but when it is richlands fans the shoe is always on the other foot
