stage is pretty much set for Sept to see if the Braves can manage to blow a huge lead OR go one and done in the playoffs.

I think they have a legit shot at winning the series this year, but there are some other teams that are red hot right now in the AL and I'm shocked at how good the Dodgers have played over the past 50 or so games...going to be an interesting October.

No chance whatsoever the Braves blow the lead. Plus, if Atlanta can stay ahead of the Dodgers, they wouldn't meet until the NLCS.

If the Braves win one game with their series against the Cards, they will have won a the season series with what looks to be the 4 other teams who will make the NL playoffs (Reds, Cards, Pirates & Dodgers).

The Braves have also swept 3 of those 4 teams (Cards, Pirates and Dodgers). To be fair, we swept the Dodgers in May before they started getting hot, but still not bad.

I remember watching the Braves vs. Dodgers in 1983 i think it was...came up short on that one. I thought we could win it all that year. Murphy was the man.

Heyward was hit in the side of the face with a pitch today and went down he did walk off the field but it didnt look good without Heyward come October the braves most likely will be done in the division series again it seems like every year here lately when the braves make the playoffs they have key players injured

The Heyward injury is another in a long line this year, but might be the most significant. ATL has no one to replace the intangibles he brings to the field; and his hitting had really picked up since moving to lead-off. The Braves postseason success is going to ride squarely on his ability to comeback from this injury in October. And not to burst anyone's bubble, but the playoffs are not yet a guarantee despite where things stand today.

Braves are attempting the annual September collapse lol....lost 4 straight and the magic number has been stuck on 9 for days. Luckily i don't think they can screw it up this year....October might be another story though.

good thing Braves had such a huge lead...they are doing everything they can to give it away in September as usual...wtf?

with the magic number at 7 they can pretty much cruise home...but why do they do this every year????
