@  redtiger : (20 January 2017 - 02:02 PM) imo its Clemson or VT. VT being the home school and its obvious what Clemson offers. I hope he goes to VT but if he picks Clemson who could blame him
@  Dick_Vitale : (20 January 2017 - 01:50 PM) Don't forget Duke! Not a big athletic football name but the education is the best on his list.
@  GC_Quincy : (20 January 2017 - 11:53 AM) Clemson is still relatively close to home. It's still a good "tough" spot to be in for a high school kid.
@  BigWinners : (20 January 2017 - 06:50 AM) He def wants to play TE,an Clemson/VT both use TEs well
@  Ryan4VT : (20 January 2017 - 02:06 AM) Maybe. We don't really know. He could value being close to home and playing time over a championship and the risk of not getting as much playing. Who knows.
@  GMan : (20 January 2017 - 02:04 AM) A National Championship??? Maybe???
@  Ryan4VT : (19 January 2017 - 08:15 PM) @UVAObserver But are his chances of seeing the field better at VT or ND or Clemson? I'm not sure what his primary motivation is.
@  UVAObserver : (19 January 2017 - 08:00 PM) He'd be crazy not to go to Clemson if football is not his primary motivation.
@  Milo : (18 January 2017 - 02:25 PM) Thanks to all the people who provide scores and updates on this site, very much appreciated!
@  Dick_Vitale : (18 January 2017 - 02:20 PM) Clemson offered James Mitchell (Union) last night. Impressive!
@  Ryan4VT : (14 January 2017 - 07:07 PM) Really good crowd in Cassell for a Jan (winter break) game vs. a team not named Duke, UNC, or lolUVA.
@  GMan : (11 January 2017 - 09:36 PM) Fixed it. Dang, Galax isn't very good this year...
@  yjake18 : (11 January 2017 - 08:05 PM) The Galax and Pulaski Co. basketball game that is listed as Galax winning 48-45 is wrong. That was the girls game result. Cougar boys won 55-29. to go with the other win over Galax 72-20.
@  UVAObserver : (11 January 2017 - 02:53 AM) Roll Tears Roll
@  GMan : (10 January 2017 - 06:20 PM) Sorry, y'all. Server updates took us offline for a bit, but were back and better than ever.
@  SXSW : (10 January 2017 - 05:39 PM) I think the Bama fans hacked the system so they would not have to listen to anyone today. Congrats to Clemson I didn't think they could do it!
@  cityofRaven : (10 January 2017 - 05:22 PM) Holy Hell, we're back!!!
@  administrator : (10 January 2017 - 05:10 PM) BIG sale at Red Lobster
@  Hokie777 : (08 January 2017 - 03:04 PM) Yes..What team would see Evans in their future 3- 5 years down the road.. cause that might be the length to acclimate him
@  Hokiebird7 : (08 January 2017 - 01:50 AM) Cook was better than evans coming out of college....imagine how bad oakland would have looked with evans at qb today

Interesting matchup in my neck of the woods. Actually, I am planning to be there for this one. The locals early schedule has been much weaker than the Richlands slate. This is a huge determining factor for me. Obviously, the Blue Tornado squad is not as powerful as past teams; however, they are good and solid and certainly will give the Cavaliers their toughest game thus far. Trust me, the folks in Daleville are already fired up for this one. This is the classic Southwest Virginia perennial power versus an upstart working its way to notoriety in the Roanoke Valley. My edge goes to the tradition that is Richlands football. Go Blues!

The Quarterback and Running Back for Lord Botetourt are both very good.  The RB put up some very good numbers last year.  I've heard from a friend out that way that they don't throw the ball hardly at all.  Hopefully Richlands comes to play and can get the ball rolling again.  If we can clean up the passing game and step up our pass defense we have chance of being good.  Look forward to making the trip out to Daleville this Friday.

LB has had some good wins this year against some very respectable teams.  Richlands has had trouble over the past few years against teams from the Roanoke area.  LB by a touchdown.

No disrespect to Richlands, but I have a feeling LB is going to win this pretty handily.  My prediction by at least 17.  31-14.  LB is pretty tough and their RB is a beast.  I would love to see Richlands win this one to keep some notoriety going for extreme SWVA, but I just don't think it will happen.

We are definitely the underdog here. More bad news for us. Colten will not be playing Friday night. Out with a shoulder sprain. LB wins this pretty easy in my opinion. I hope we can make a good showing. If we can't throw the ball we lose big. If we can trow maybe we can keep it respectable!

Exit 150B, take a right off the exit.  Right at the first light onto 220.  Go about a mile and a half.  School is on the left

I hate to hear that he is out. Best of luck to you all, pulling for the Blues.

Oddly enough, I think I know more about Botetourt's team than that of my own alma mater with regard to this matchup.

My take is that the Blues will have to play their very best to have a shot at this one.  This looks like the best team that Botetourt has fielded in recent memory and they've got really great momentum coming into this game.  Their offense is clicking and they've played some fairly decent competition to date.  Richlands will need to control the line of scrimmage and keep the Cavs' offense on the sidelines as much as possible.  Doing that will improve their chances.

On paper this looks like an uphill climb.  But anything can happen.

Richlands will have their hands full this week and for the next two weeks with Virginia High, who is much improved, and with Bluefield.  When was the last time Richlands lost 2 or even 3 regular season games?

I love my blues,  but with Colton out and River still getting his legs under him as a starting varsity QB,  and with some issues at receiver, and the O line still coming together,  I think this might be a long night for the blues.  They are playing a lot of young players,  but they do they have the potential to be a very good team,  but I am afraid they have just too much going against them this week,  with them playing a good team that has a lot of good talent along with good coaching and at their place.

I hope I am way off on this though and the blues give them a good hard fought game !

There's a F5 BlueTornado warning for Southwest Virginia this fall !
