@  Beamerball : (28 July 2014 - 01:04 AM) a step ahead of me redtiger haha

@  Beamerball : (28 July 2014 - 01:03 AM) Check this one out...
@  redtiger : (28 July 2014 - 01:03 AM) yeah there are videos on wcyb of several tornadoes.1 ripped a house in half
@  Beamerball : (28 July 2014 - 01:01 AM) Yeah, they're starting to get close to us here again. That same earlier storm that crossed out of KY and hit us here in Lee, produced a tornado in the Kingsport/Johnson City area. Seen some videos of those.
@  redtiger : (28 July 2014 - 01:00 AM) saw a pic of a hail ball on wcyb that was softball sized. Everyone be careful tonight
@  GMan : (28 July 2014 - 12:39 AM) Buddy of mine posted pics of the wall cloud rolling through Knoxvegas...wicked!!! More supercell t-storms are poppin' in KY heading toward southern WV and SW VA. Could be a long night...
@  Beamerball : (27 July 2014 - 11:04 PM) It was wicked man. Baseball size hail, the most lightning I've ever seen from a storm, some strong winds, and some low, fast moving clouds. Unfortunately from location, the storm track didn't allow me a good look for any funnels, wall clouds, etc.
@  GMan : (27 July 2014 - 09:21 PM) Tornado warned cell in Lee and Scott county...hang on, Beamerball!!!
@  Beamerball : (27 July 2014 - 05:55 PM) Yeah, still a lot of cloud cover in the area and its keeping the instability down some. Still some high parameters though for severe weather. One of the worst outbreaks down here, produced the Glade Spring tornado, was an overcast day. We'll see if the dynamics can overcome it.
@  GMan : (27 July 2014 - 05:37 PM) Agreed. The risk is definitely there. However, I think, in my area at least, the overnight storms took some juice out of the atmoshpere. However, the storms back in KY look kinda bad.
@  Beamerball : (27 July 2014 - 01:49 PM) http://www.spc.noaa....k/day1otlk.html
@  Beamerball : (27 July 2014 - 01:49 PM) Keep an eye on the weather today. A rare moderate risk threat...definitely odd for July standards.
@  UVAObserver : (24 July 2014 - 06:47 PM) Mike London: "My priorities are in line: faith, family, and football. I'm 100% committed to football." Maths?
@  Ryan4VT : (23 July 2014 - 01:56 PM) Drummer of my band is in line for a Paramore concert in Charlotte and the girl beside him has heard of our band before.......that is insane.
@  Bulldogs52 : (22 July 2014 - 09:59 PM) will be hard to find a pick up truck around here under 4k unless it has so problems.....
@  EH31 : (22 July 2014 - 09:16 PM) is anyone selling an extended cab truck? under 4k ?
@  GMan : (22 July 2014 - 01:20 AM) No thanks. Got some painting to do around the house, think I'd rather sit there and watch it dry...
@  bhs7695 : (21 July 2014 - 12:15 PM) Anyone going to watch the Saints practice this summer?
@  GMan : (19 July 2014 - 11:57 PM) August 1...

Interesting matchup in my neck of the woods. Actually, I am planning to be there for this one. The locals early schedule has been much weaker than the Richlands slate. This is a huge determining factor for me. Obviously, the Blue Tornado squad is not as powerful as past teams; however, they are good and solid and certainly will give the Cavaliers their toughest game thus far. Trust me, the folks in Daleville are already fired up for this one. This is the classic Southwest Virginia perennial power versus an upstart working its way to notoriety in the Roanoke Valley. My edge goes to the tradition that is Richlands football. Go Blues!

The Quarterback and Running Back for Lord Botetourt are both very good.  The RB put up some very good numbers last year.  I've heard from a friend out that way that they don't throw the ball hardly at all.  Hopefully Richlands comes to play and can get the ball rolling again.  If we can clean up the passing game and step up our pass defense we have chance of being good.  Look forward to making the trip out to Daleville this Friday.

LB has had some good wins this year against some very respectable teams.  Richlands has had trouble over the past few years against teams from the Roanoke area.  LB by a touchdown.

No disrespect to Richlands, but I have a feeling LB is going to win this pretty handily.  My prediction by at least 17.  31-14.  LB is pretty tough and their RB is a beast.  I would love to see Richlands win this one to keep some notoriety going for extreme SWVA, but I just don't think it will happen.

We are definitely the underdog here. More bad news for us. Colten will not be playing Friday night. Out with a shoulder sprain. LB wins this pretty easy in my opinion. I hope we can make a good showing. If we can't throw the ball we lose big. If we can trow maybe we can keep it respectable!

Exit 150B, take a right off the exit.  Right at the first light onto 220.  Go about a mile and a half.  School is on the left

Oddly enough, I think I know more about Botetourt's team than that of my own alma mater with regard to this matchup.

My take is that the Blues will have to play their very best to have a shot at this one.  This looks like the best team that Botetourt has fielded in recent memory and they've got really great momentum coming into this game.  Their offense is clicking and they've played some fairly decent competition to date.  Richlands will need to control the line of scrimmage and keep the Cavs' offense on the sidelines as much as possible.  Doing that will improve their chances.

On paper this looks like an uphill climb.  But anything can happen.

Richlands will have their hands full this week and for the next two weeks with Virginia High, who is much improved, and with Bluefield.  When was the last time Richlands lost 2 or even 3 regular season games?

I love my blues,  but with Colton out and River still getting his legs under him as a starting varsity QB,  and with some issues at receiver, and the O line still coming together,  I think this might be a long night for the blues.  They are playing a lot of young players,  but they do they have the potential to be a very good team,  but I am afraid they have just too much going against them this week,  with them playing a good team that has a lot of good talent along with good coaching and at their place.

I hope I am way off on this though and the blues give them a good hard fought game !

There's a F5 BlueTornado warning for Southwest Virginia this fall !
