@  Ryan4VT : (28 February 2015 - 06:40 PM) It's official. I got my acceptance letter from the School of Music at Virginia Tech today. I am a Hokie. Finally.
@  BHS03 : (27 February 2015 - 03:53 AM) WVU's newest basketball signee, 5 year old Nicholas Wince:
@  BHS03 : (27 February 2015 - 03:47 AM) Can't wait for the conference and ncaa tourneys. I feel like this year will be very exciting
@  BigWinners : (27 February 2015 - 02:58 AM) But UVA has wins over top 10 RPI Maryland, and a slew of 20-30 RPI wins with only one loss to RPI 5 Duke. Winning at Maryland and VCU are big wins. Havent saw Nova's stats RPI-wise, but I doubt they can top UVA. Whats Villanova's best win?
@  UVAObserver : (26 February 2015 - 10:29 PM) But I think the boys should be a #1 with <4 losses.
@  UVAObserver : (26 February 2015 - 10:28 PM) If Villanova and UVA win out, they will have the same number of Top 50 wins. Dangerous team.
@  BigWinners : (26 February 2015 - 07:00 PM) I dont think even if UVA loses two games that Zona or Wisconsin can catch them, neither of those teams have the great resume that the Hoos have
@  Bearcat Bob : (26 February 2015 - 05:23 PM) After looking over the field, UVA should be a #1 even if they lose 1-2 games the rest of the way. Maybe Arizona/Wisconsin would sneak in if the "Hoos falter.
@  BigWinners : (26 February 2015 - 04:22 PM) Villanova has no real great wins and they beat up on a bad conference. Wisconsin maybe, but they dont have the same amount of great wins that UVA has.
@  UVAObserver : (26 February 2015 - 04:06 PM) Villanova. Perhaps Wisconsin still, if they can win the Big XIV Tournament.
@  BigWinners : (26 February 2015 - 04:02 PM) But Bob, what team could replace them?
@  UVAObserver : (26 February 2015 - 02:22 PM) As much as I think Gonzaga will flail yet again in the postseaaon, I think their #1 is justified. UK is locked into it absent some bizarre collapse. I would feel better if we close the deal on these next 3.
@  Bearcat Bob : (26 February 2015 - 01:55 PM) Maryland has lost one home game this year...to UVA. I seriously doubt UVA has "locked up" a #1 seed yet. If they lose to Louisville and make an early ACC tourney exit, they would not be a #1.
@  UVAObserver : (26 February 2015 - 03:00 AM) VT...I love you long time if you pull this off...
@  BigWinners : (25 February 2015 - 11:29 PM) The win over Maryland looks even better for UVA today after the Terps beat Wisconsin. UVA is the only non-conference game that Maryland lost, so that should help their resume. Lunardi has Virginia as a 1-seed even with a loss tonight. UVA and UK have locked up 1-seeds while Gonzaga is almost a lock as well. Duke is probably the other 1-seed, no other team has a better resume.
@  GMan : (25 February 2015 - 02:59 PM) Nope. He's done at the end of this season.
@  bhs7695 : (25 February 2015 - 01:27 PM) I think the class that Dennis Wolfe has coming in is rated pretty high. Babcock may give him one for year.
@  UVAObserver : (23 February 2015 - 06:07 PM) And I was in a frozen panic when Brogdon and Perrantes collided. Crazy scary. I think Perrantes is back on Wednesday, though.
@  UVAObserver : (23 February 2015 - 06:06 PM) I'd wager the streak goes to 19.
@  Bearcat Bob : (23 February 2015 - 02:29 AM) A seriously banged up 'Hoos team handles FSU...destiny?

Interesting matchup in my neck of the woods. Actually, I am planning to be there for this one. The locals early schedule has been much weaker than the Richlands slate. This is a huge determining factor for me. Obviously, the Blue Tornado squad is not as powerful as past teams; however, they are good and solid and certainly will give the Cavaliers their toughest game thus far. Trust me, the folks in Daleville are already fired up for this one. This is the classic Southwest Virginia perennial power versus an upstart working its way to notoriety in the Roanoke Valley. My edge goes to the tradition that is Richlands football. Go Blues!

The Quarterback and Running Back for Lord Botetourt are both very good.  The RB put up some very good numbers last year.  I've heard from a friend out that way that they don't throw the ball hardly at all.  Hopefully Richlands comes to play and can get the ball rolling again.  If we can clean up the passing game and step up our pass defense we have chance of being good.  Look forward to making the trip out to Daleville this Friday.

LB has had some good wins this year against some very respectable teams.  Richlands has had trouble over the past few years against teams from the Roanoke area.  LB by a touchdown.

No disrespect to Richlands, but I have a feeling LB is going to win this pretty handily.  My prediction by at least 17.  31-14.  LB is pretty tough and their RB is a beast.  I would love to see Richlands win this one to keep some notoriety going for extreme SWVA, but I just don't think it will happen.

We are definitely the underdog here. More bad news for us. Colten will not be playing Friday night. Out with a shoulder sprain. LB wins this pretty easy in my opinion. I hope we can make a good showing. If we can't throw the ball we lose big. If we can trow maybe we can keep it respectable!

Exit 150B, take a right off the exit.  Right at the first light onto 220.  Go about a mile and a half.  School is on the left

I hate to hear that he is out. Best of luck to you all, pulling for the Blues.

Oddly enough, I think I know more about Botetourt's team than that of my own alma mater with regard to this matchup.

My take is that the Blues will have to play their very best to have a shot at this one.  This looks like the best team that Botetourt has fielded in recent memory and they've got really great momentum coming into this game.  Their offense is clicking and they've played some fairly decent competition to date.  Richlands will need to control the line of scrimmage and keep the Cavs' offense on the sidelines as much as possible.  Doing that will improve their chances.

On paper this looks like an uphill climb.  But anything can happen.

Richlands will have their hands full this week and for the next two weeks with Virginia High, who is much improved, and with Bluefield.  When was the last time Richlands lost 2 or even 3 regular season games?

I love my blues,  but with Colton out and River still getting his legs under him as a starting varsity QB,  and with some issues at receiver, and the O line still coming together,  I think this might be a long night for the blues.  They are playing a lot of young players,  but they do they have the potential to be a very good team,  but I am afraid they have just too much going against them this week,  with them playing a good team that has a lot of good talent along with good coaching and at their place.

I hope I am way off on this though and the blues give them a good hard fought game !

There's a F5 BlueTornado warning for Southwest Virginia this fall !
