@  redtiger : (02 September 2014 - 12:54 AM) at least they are team/school colors. Nothing I hate more than wearing black when your school colors dont include black
@  futbolking : (02 September 2014 - 12:43 AM) Can they not wear a uniform that somewhat resembles their normal unis? Miami looks kinda girlie in those things...
@  futbolking : (02 September 2014 - 12:42 AM) Who are these two teams playing on ESPN tonight??
@  Plywood_King : (01 September 2014 - 11:00 PM) Pretty sure the Bobcats won: http://www.wdbj7.com...adford/27776006
@  BHS03 : (01 September 2014 - 09:15 PM) Cheap shot lol
@  Ryan4VT : (01 September 2014 - 02:52 AM) Drats!!! I thought I had saw Raddy won that, but when I saw GW in the Scores thread I just went with it. Update coming shortly
@  gwave0333 : (01 September 2014 - 02:47 AM) Hey Ryan sent you a PM
@  Ryan4VT : (01 September 2014 - 02:07 AM) Week 1 results up
@  Ryan4VT : (31 August 2014 - 08:32 PM) FANTASY DRAFT IN 30 MINUTES
@  Bearcat Bob : (31 August 2014 - 05:48 PM) I'm not saying that a change was not necessary in THIS game. But London has played merry-go-round with his QB's since day one. If a player is constantly looking over his shoulder, it is hard to play.
@  UVAObserver : (31 August 2014 - 03:21 PM) I think throwing 2 pick-6s, one of which Lambert gave up on the pursuit, was more than a fair reason to bench him. Of all the things on which to put at Mike London's feet...that's weaksauce. He made the right decision on that one. I'm no fan of Fairchild's scheme usually, but he called a halfway-decent game. Just too predictable on rushes.
@  futbolking : (31 August 2014 - 02:10 PM) I'm sure he will be micro-managed appropriately.....
@  Bearcat Bob : (31 August 2014 - 12:49 PM) UVA found a QB! THat is until he throws a pick, holds his mouth the wrong way, or does something London thinks requires a change...no wonder Hackenberg went to Penn State instead of UVA. No decent QB should go to UVA until there is a change at the top.
@  GMan : (31 August 2014 - 12:07 PM) ARRRGGG! Jellyfish stings are itching this morning...
@  GMan : (31 August 2014 - 11:26 AM) No, they were penalized because #13 for WVU took a cheap shot at the 'bama QB as he ran out of bounds...
@  BHS03 : (31 August 2014 - 06:24 AM) http://www.sbnation....-walter-penalty
@  BHS03 : (31 August 2014 - 06:24 AM) ACC refs = very screwy
@  Ryan4VT : (31 August 2014 - 03:45 AM) FSU was lucky to squeak out of that one……OKST out-played them for most of the game.
@  UVAObserver : (31 August 2014 - 02:31 AM) I went to Charlottesville today. UVA looks like a MUCH different team than the last two years. Three fluky TDs off turnovers. But the D was STOUT. And we may have found a QB today...

Interesting matchup in my neck of the woods. Actually, I am planning to be there for this one. The locals early schedule has been much weaker than the Richlands slate. This is a huge determining factor for me. Obviously, the Blue Tornado squad is not as powerful as past teams; however, they are good and solid and certainly will give the Cavaliers their toughest game thus far. Trust me, the folks in Daleville are already fired up for this one. This is the classic Southwest Virginia perennial power versus an upstart working its way to notoriety in the Roanoke Valley. My edge goes to the tradition that is Richlands football. Go Blues!

The Quarterback and Running Back for Lord Botetourt are both very good.  The RB put up some very good numbers last year.  I've heard from a friend out that way that they don't throw the ball hardly at all.  Hopefully Richlands comes to play and can get the ball rolling again.  If we can clean up the passing game and step up our pass defense we have chance of being good.  Look forward to making the trip out to Daleville this Friday.

LB has had some good wins this year against some very respectable teams.  Richlands has had trouble over the past few years against teams from the Roanoke area.  LB by a touchdown.

No disrespect to Richlands, but I have a feeling LB is going to win this pretty handily.  My prediction by at least 17.  31-14.  LB is pretty tough and their RB is a beast.  I would love to see Richlands win this one to keep some notoriety going for extreme SWVA, but I just don't think it will happen.

We are definitely the underdog here. More bad news for us. Colten will not be playing Friday night. Out with a shoulder sprain. LB wins this pretty easy in my opinion. I hope we can make a good showing. If we can't throw the ball we lose big. If we can trow maybe we can keep it respectable!

Exit 150B, take a right off the exit.  Right at the first light onto 220.  Go about a mile and a half.  School is on the left

Oddly enough, I think I know more about Botetourt's team than that of my own alma mater with regard to this matchup.

My take is that the Blues will have to play their very best to have a shot at this one.  This looks like the best team that Botetourt has fielded in recent memory and they've got really great momentum coming into this game.  Their offense is clicking and they've played some fairly decent competition to date.  Richlands will need to control the line of scrimmage and keep the Cavs' offense on the sidelines as much as possible.  Doing that will improve their chances.

On paper this looks like an uphill climb.  But anything can happen.

Richlands will have their hands full this week and for the next two weeks with Virginia High, who is much improved, and with Bluefield.  When was the last time Richlands lost 2 or even 3 regular season games?

I love my blues,  but with Colton out and River still getting his legs under him as a starting varsity QB,  and with some issues at receiver, and the O line still coming together,  I think this might be a long night for the blues.  They are playing a lot of young players,  but they do they have the potential to be a very good team,  but I am afraid they have just too much going against them this week,  with them playing a good team that has a lot of good talent along with good coaching and at their place.

I hope I am way off on this though and the blues give them a good hard fought game !

There's a F5 BlueTornado warning for Southwest Virginia this fall !
