@  Ryan4VT : (01 August 2015 - 03:03 PM) Pick'em info is up! Also, let me know in the fantasy football thread if you wanna play!!!
@  GMan : (28 July 2015 - 05:34 PM)
@  redtiger : (28 July 2015 - 11:51 AM) I only say "we" when talking about Haysi and even then I try not to, im not involved with the team. Now, I may never say we again :( But I understand saying "we"
@  UVAObserver : (26 July 2015 - 10:53 PM) Tony Bennett lands the top transfer prospect in the country, former 5* PF Austin Nichols. Eligible in 2016.
@  blueinbama : (26 July 2015 - 05:45 PM) "We" will take that under consideration. ;)
@  futbolking : (25 July 2015 - 11:33 PM) if
@  futbolking : (25 July 2015 - 11:32 PM) I'd be surprised of RG3 takes a snap this season.
@  hokiebird7 : (25 July 2015 - 08:22 PM) Redskins will have a good team huh? Did they get rid of RG3 and/or Snyder and me not hear about it?
@  hokiebird7 : (25 July 2015 - 08:21 PM) You people can joke about it all you want...I couldn't care less....I just think it's dumb to say "we" when you really aren't or never have been a part of the team....or one you follow
@  futbolking : (25 July 2015 - 03:41 PM) I pull for the Redskins, we are going to have a good team year this year!! I'm also a WVU fan, didn't go to school there, but we should have a solid team.
@  blueinbama : (25 July 2015 - 11:01 AM) I say "we" when referring to the Braves, and I've never played MLB...but I did stay in a Holiday Inn Express last night.
@  Ryan4VT : (25 July 2015 - 03:22 AM) Well old habits die hard. I'll probably say we until the day I die
@  hokiebird7 : (24 July 2015 - 07:38 PM) Yes with Richlands and VT you have the right to say "We" because you went to school at both....I say "We" for Giles all the time because i went to school there and played sports there....but to say it for just a random team you follow IMO is dumb
@  Ryan4VT : (24 July 2015 - 07:13 PM) And as far as Chelsea, you may consider it a "humiliating" loss, but when we go on and win the league again, literally NO ONE will even remember that game except the kid that scored. :)
@  Ryan4VT : (24 July 2015 - 07:13 PM) I feel like I have the right to say "we" with Richlands and VT. I can see an argument against the others, but sports are a large part of who I am and who I identify with. So "we" is how I associate with them.
@  UVAObserver : (24 July 2015 - 04:41 PM) That's most award shows in a nutshell, from country music to the movie industry. But ESPN's is the most brazen.
@  GMan : (24 July 2015 - 03:49 PM) Listening to XM91 College Sports...Chris Childers has the quote of the year, "The ESPYs are three hours of ESPN kissing their own ass."
@  hokiebird7 : (24 July 2015 - 12:10 AM) Sorry Ryan but it just gets under my skin a little bit.....not hammering you personally
@  hokiebird7 : (24 July 2015 - 12:09 AM) Pet peeve of mine people saying "We" for a team they have nothing to do with other than just being a fan

Interesting matchup in my neck of the woods. Actually, I am planning to be there for this one. The locals early schedule has been much weaker than the Richlands slate. This is a huge determining factor for me. Obviously, the Blue Tornado squad is not as powerful as past teams; however, they are good and solid and certainly will give the Cavaliers their toughest game thus far. Trust me, the folks in Daleville are already fired up for this one. This is the classic Southwest Virginia perennial power versus an upstart working its way to notoriety in the Roanoke Valley. My edge goes to the tradition that is Richlands football. Go Blues!

The Quarterback and Running Back for Lord Botetourt are both very good.  The RB put up some very good numbers last year.  I've heard from a friend out that way that they don't throw the ball hardly at all.  Hopefully Richlands comes to play and can get the ball rolling again.  If we can clean up the passing game and step up our pass defense we have chance of being good.  Look forward to making the trip out to Daleville this Friday.

LB has had some good wins this year against some very respectable teams.  Richlands has had trouble over the past few years against teams from the Roanoke area.  LB by a touchdown.

No disrespect to Richlands, but I have a feeling LB is going to win this pretty handily.  My prediction by at least 17.  31-14.  LB is pretty tough and their RB is a beast.  I would love to see Richlands win this one to keep some notoriety going for extreme SWVA, but I just don't think it will happen.

We are definitely the underdog here. More bad news for us. Colten will not be playing Friday night. Out with a shoulder sprain. LB wins this pretty easy in my opinion. I hope we can make a good showing. If we can't throw the ball we lose big. If we can trow maybe we can keep it respectable!

Exit 150B, take a right off the exit.  Right at the first light onto 220.  Go about a mile and a half.  School is on the left

Oddly enough, I think I know more about Botetourt's team than that of my own alma mater with regard to this matchup.

My take is that the Blues will have to play their very best to have a shot at this one.  This looks like the best team that Botetourt has fielded in recent memory and they've got really great momentum coming into this game.  Their offense is clicking and they've played some fairly decent competition to date.  Richlands will need to control the line of scrimmage and keep the Cavs' offense on the sidelines as much as possible.  Doing that will improve their chances.

On paper this looks like an uphill climb.  But anything can happen.

Richlands will have their hands full this week and for the next two weeks with Virginia High, who is much improved, and with Bluefield.  When was the last time Richlands lost 2 or even 3 regular season games?

I love my blues,  but with Colton out and River still getting his legs under him as a starting varsity QB,  and with some issues at receiver, and the O line still coming together,  I think this might be a long night for the blues.  They are playing a lot of young players,  but they do they have the potential to be a very good team,  but I am afraid they have just too much going against them this week,  with them playing a good team that has a lot of good talent along with good coaching and at their place.

I hope I am way off on this though and the blues give them a good hard fought game !

There's a F5 BlueTornado warning for Southwest Virginia this fall !
