@  GMan : (24 May 2015 - 12:25 PM) Maybe California will get their's now. Texas was in a major drought for the last several years, lakes drying up, wells drying up, etc... I read that one of the major lakes was 15 feet above full pond. Sound like their water issue has been solved for a while. Just wish it hadn't been this quick, with all the flooding.
@  Beamerball : (24 May 2015 - 05:59 AM) Never seen anything like this before. Incredible flash flooding in Texas/Oklahoma, check out this spike. As bad as it's for them, couldn't imagine the disaster it would cause for an area like this one. https://twitter.com/...348541869223936
@  VHSLhelper : (20 May 2015 - 07:29 PM) VHSL will admit Liberty Chr, other private schools
@  blueinbama : (20 May 2015 - 05:45 PM) So sorry to hear about your uncle. Prayers sent.
@  UVAObserver : (20 May 2015 - 10:43 AM) You got prayers, friend.
@  HurricaneWar... : (20 May 2015 - 01:45 AM) I would appreciate it if you guys would remember my family in your prayers tonight. My uncle just found out two days ago he has brain cancer and he is now in a coma.
@  UVAObserver : (19 May 2015 - 09:45 PM) UVA beats Oklahoma 4-1 to win the 2015 NCAA Championship in Men's Tennis! #2 for the program, #22 overall, and the 3rd time UVA has won multiple titles in the same year.
@  UVAObserver : (19 May 2015 - 07:07 PM) In "As the QB Turns", Cutler announces he will remain in Charlottesville.
@  UVAObserver : (19 May 2015 - 01:55 AM) Hoos upset #2 Baylor in men's tennis and will play #1 Oklahoma for the national championship tomorrow. Baylor and OU were the only 2 teams to beat UVA this season.
@  UVAObserver : (17 May 2015 - 02:47 PM) UVA upsets VT in both outdoor T&F events, despite having next to nothing in the sprints. UVA also wins the fan point with 58%. Final score: UVA-15, VT-7.
@  Bearcat Bob : (17 May 2015 - 01:01 AM) I thought UVA was dead in the water entering their exam break. Sweeping UNC for the first time ever may be just the spark needed heading into post season play (even if UNC is scuttling along).
@  UVAObserver : (17 May 2015 - 12:28 AM) Hokies draw a UNC team that is dragging hind end to end the regulsr season. Would not shock me to see VT beat them.
@  GMan : (16 May 2015 - 11:20 PM) And...there in! GO HOKIES!!!
@  UVAObserver : (16 May 2015 - 12:30 AM) And I just realized that Fats Domino is still alive. How?! If he can get to 87, I might get to 70...
@  UVAObserver : (16 May 2015 - 12:26 AM) VT trying very hard to miss the ACC baseball tournament. Getting shelled by gawdawful Pitt.
@  GMan : (01 May 2015 - 06:37 PM) Spent the last hour "practicing" the first position of the pentatonic scale on the guitar...one down, four to go...
@  Ryan4VT : (30 April 2015 - 07:43 PM) Camo*
@  Ryan4VT : (30 April 2015 - 07:26 PM) Honaker High School on lockdown. Man wearing came walking around the school. They are afraid he may have a gun.
@  Bearcat Bob : (30 April 2015 - 06:15 PM) Maybe VT will let UVA use the "national championship" display case they built for football to house the Commonwealth Clash trophy?
@  UVAObserver : (27 April 2015 - 07:20 PM) And UVA upsets VT in men's golf to get 12 points and win the Commonwealth Clash outright. And yes, there is a physical trophy for this.

Interesting matchup in my neck of the woods. Actually, I am planning to be there for this one. The locals early schedule has been much weaker than the Richlands slate. This is a huge determining factor for me. Obviously, the Blue Tornado squad is not as powerful as past teams; however, they are good and solid and certainly will give the Cavaliers their toughest game thus far. Trust me, the folks in Daleville are already fired up for this one. This is the classic Southwest Virginia perennial power versus an upstart working its way to notoriety in the Roanoke Valley. My edge goes to the tradition that is Richlands football. Go Blues!

The Quarterback and Running Back for Lord Botetourt are both very good.  The RB put up some very good numbers last year.  I've heard from a friend out that way that they don't throw the ball hardly at all.  Hopefully Richlands comes to play and can get the ball rolling again.  If we can clean up the passing game and step up our pass defense we have chance of being good.  Look forward to making the trip out to Daleville this Friday.

LB has had some good wins this year against some very respectable teams.  Richlands has had trouble over the past few years against teams from the Roanoke area.  LB by a touchdown.

No disrespect to Richlands, but I have a feeling LB is going to win this pretty handily.  My prediction by at least 17.  31-14.  LB is pretty tough and their RB is a beast.  I would love to see Richlands win this one to keep some notoriety going for extreme SWVA, but I just don't think it will happen.

We are definitely the underdog here. More bad news for us. Colten will not be playing Friday night. Out with a shoulder sprain. LB wins this pretty easy in my opinion. I hope we can make a good showing. If we can't throw the ball we lose big. If we can trow maybe we can keep it respectable!

Exit 150B, take a right off the exit.  Right at the first light onto 220.  Go about a mile and a half.  School is on the left

I hate to hear that he is out. Best of luck to you all, pulling for the Blues.

Oddly enough, I think I know more about Botetourt's team than that of my own alma mater with regard to this matchup.

My take is that the Blues will have to play their very best to have a shot at this one.  This looks like the best team that Botetourt has fielded in recent memory and they've got really great momentum coming into this game.  Their offense is clicking and they've played some fairly decent competition to date.  Richlands will need to control the line of scrimmage and keep the Cavs' offense on the sidelines as much as possible.  Doing that will improve their chances.

On paper this looks like an uphill climb.  But anything can happen.

Richlands will have their hands full this week and for the next two weeks with Virginia High, who is much improved, and with Bluefield.  When was the last time Richlands lost 2 or even 3 regular season games?

I love my blues,  but with Colton out and River still getting his legs under him as a starting varsity QB,  and with some issues at receiver, and the O line still coming together,  I think this might be a long night for the blues.  They are playing a lot of young players,  but they do they have the potential to be a very good team,  but I am afraid they have just too much going against them this week,  with them playing a good team that has a lot of good talent along with good coaching and at their place.

I hope I am way off on this though and the blues give them a good hard fought game !

There's a F5 BlueTornado warning for Southwest Virginia this fall !
