ThomasDenton 79 Report Share Posted January 31, 2014 I read an article that said counties (and cities I assume) don't have to allow home-schoolers to play if they don't want too.
redtiger 1,739 Report Share Posted January 31, 2014 I hope they don't have to. I personally am not a fan of home schooling but if parents want to keep their kids away from the perceived negative influences of public school that's fine but they shouldn't be allowed to pick and choose what aspects of the public school system they want their kids to participate in. robtom and Ryan4VT
sixcat 2,913 Report Share Posted February 1, 2014 There has been a huge push in the Galax, Carroll, Grayson area to allow home schoolers to play on local sports teams. The local home school association got so loud that news outlets picked it up and ran with it. Here is the link to the original thread. http://www.swvasports.com/ipb/index.php?/topic/31905-tebow-bill-has-become-hot-topic-locally/?hl=tebow I still disagree with it. Someone shouldn't be able to pick and choose what aspects of the public school system they wish to participate in. I dislike standardized testing but I don't feel entitled to the point that I feel my children shouldn't have to participate. redtiger
