Widespread_Panic 197 Report Share Posted April 5, 2014 If I were an Abingdon fan I would be worried that it has taken this long to make a hire. Either it's been offered to people who have changed their mind or they didn't get any good coaches to apply.

Chappy 72 Report Share Posted April 7, 2014 The case could be that the school just doesn't care if they hire a new coach, or just maybe they have been waiting on a coach to resign from his current position????? Just throwing that out there.

ThomasDenton 79 Report Share Posted April 7, 2014 Saw on Twitter today that AHS might not make a decision (or at least announce anything official) until April 22.
redtiger 1,739 Report Share Posted April 8, 2014 They have been at it awhile. If that's true Denton then maybe they have someone lined out but he needs time to resign from his current position?
sixcat 2,913 Report Share Posted April 8, 2014 I saw the same Twitter post saying no announcement would be made until April 22.
battleftbl 42 Report Share Posted April 10, 2014 They've been waiting until the end of the year for Graham Clark to resign at DB/Retire in Tennessee. Abingdon is about to make a HUGE hire. With that said...if Graham cant win there, drop the program because it's a lost cause.
ThomasDenton 79 Report Share Posted April 11, 2014 If he's really retiring in TN, who's to say he just wants to retire in VA too and will only be there a few years? If this happens, it could get things going for AHS, but that'd mean another new coach in a short time.
falconfan1 125 Report Share Posted April 11, 2014 I think that Coach Clark is staying put. DB has over 720 wins in their illustrious history which ranks them in the top 25 high schools in the country. I don't think that he would leave a school like that without them having ample time to search for a replacement.
HurricaneWarning 212 Report Share Posted April 11, 2014 I would be shocked if he did. There isn`t a team I would leave DB for in southwest Virginia to come coach.
falconfan1 125 Report Share Posted April 11, 2014 There is only one draw back about being at DB. MARYVILLE! Chappy
