Falconman 44 Report Share Posted June 12, 2014 I come home to visit and see major moves in the land of Falcons, kids working out, new Bermuda grass (game and practice fields), and new coaching staff. When we Falcons make moves, we make major moves. Want to welcome former state champion Coach Randy Reid to the Falcons. I'm hearing great things about him and the totally new staff he is putting together. Its time about time we get some help around these parts. Coach, we fly High here in Camelot! Go Falcons! BigO 316 Report Share Posted August 1, 2014 Its wayyyyy to early to be predicting a lot of the teams in SWVa. Wayyyy too many coaching changes to be able to do so. I know that AHS schedule is favorable for them. JSB away, Gate City home, Chilhowie home, @ Happy Valley, Volunteer home, @ Lebanon, @ Va High, Richlands home, @ Tazewell, Marion home. Do I think AHS has a winning a season? Sure, but that may just be hope. Only lost 3 starters from last year, have a HOF OC, College All American LB'er HC and DC, and will have very mature DL and OL. Lost some key players to transfer but also gained a couple. Kids like Coach Reed so far. It will be nice to have a coach that really WANTS to win. That was a huge factor in years past...no true desire to win. But to predict how they will do at this point? Would be foolish to do so.....and some have proven they are fools. Sleepin nuts 27 Report Share Posted August 6, 2014 Abingdon may need to win 7-8 games to get into the playoffs in the tough 3A West. Having to play all 1A and 2A teams will help pad the record but won't leave a lot of margin for error in the current point system.
futbolking 766 Report Share Posted August 6, 2014 I see that Abingdon is scrimmaging on the 15th with Pulaski, Magna Vista and Lord Botetourt.... they will certainly see if they have a quality team at that event. redtiger and Bigrhsfan

I'm not so sure they can beat most of them. Until I see something different, that's just how I see it.
BigO 316 Report Share Posted August 6, 2014 Ryan, you have every right to say that. Based on the AHS history, you have every right. That's all I am going to say. Falcon, the scrimmage is in Pulaski.
futbolking 766 Report Share Posted August 6, 2014 Where will that scrimmage be? Pulaski starts at 6:00. There will be 4 teams on the field at the same time....10 play offense and defense against each opponent (starting from 40 yard line)....
