Clintwood @ Union

From what I saw last Friday I will go with the Greenwave. Union was dependent on the pass and idk that they have enough to score on Clintwood. Clintwood didnt look great but had a lot of potential. Solid rushing attack and Recievers were open, if the QB will just make the right decisions.

Union got complacent and kept Clintwood in the game. Clintwood did turn the ball over, but the score was closer than the game IMO. Clintwood was scrappy and played hard, but there was never a time that the game seemed much in doubt to me. The last INT was more of a desperation throw than anything. I will say this, in the 2nd half Union didn't tackle well and Clintwood outplayed them for a stretch, but both teams have some work to do in order to ensue a successful season.

i said wave was weak, never made it  past 50 yd. line in first half....wave could not stop union on 3rd down....neither team, is going to be barnburner....clintwood was still trying to (find out or figure out each other) beast was right, clintwood is scrappy...and one hit that caused fumble, and let me tell you it was a hit, in 4th qtr...gave wave a chance to win it...but i will disagree with beast on this,,,i don't think union was compacent, it's just that  those dang hard hits, and some wave pride was starting to come together....just my opinion...............union has some real good  wide outs..., and  from my understanding ,9th and 10th graders..... as many dressed out players union had on sideline....you'd think they(would or could) run more than one back set.......

Here's my take on the game as a outsider just picked this game to go watch. After first watching Both teams warm up union looked to have way more talent and twice as many players dressed out. union did have 5 to 7 very quick kids so I said damn I should have went to gate city as it looked like clintwood would be beaten by at least 4 tds. Union went up 2 tds and seemed to be cruising then the hard hits by the wave and fatigue started wearing on the home team (not trying to piss anyone off from union or clintwood) but clintwoods second qb no.7 that started the second half was a lot better and seemed to spark the offense if he starts the game clintwood wins in a close one. my opinion clintwood is in better physical shape but union has a lot more talent.

Thats what I took away from the Norton scrimmage. Clintwoods boys are physical and want it bad, Unions not so much. And thats not just from seeing the teams on the field but also from hearing the comments of Unions players during the rain delay. One player mentioned that the scrimmage might have to be moved to the next day(Saturday) and several complained that they "had plans" and wouldnt come back. Heart, desire and pride seem to be missing from that program. Its definitely not missing from the Clintwood program. Union definitely has talent at WR.

As I understand it #7 IS the Clintwood starter however due to displanary reasons he was unable to practice with the team in the week leading up to the Union ballgame (I think if He gets the start with a full week of practice Clintwood wins the game by 2 TDs)
