Graham @ Bland Co.

I'll say it. If Graham loses this, Williams deserves to be excused at the end of this season.

Graham SHOULD NEVER LOSE to Bland County in football.  Ever.  Effing EVER.

It's his 4th year.  The seniors now have had Williams for their entire time at Graham.  The 4th year should be the one where the team is performing at a level that should be expected for the foreseeable future.  It's not as if we're talking about replacing a coach in a Tazewell-esque time frame.  This team's staring down the barrel at 3-7 at BEST, which is Graham's 2nd-worst season since the 1980s.  That's bad enough, but the losses have been wholly uncompetitive.  It's not like the 1987 and 1988 seasons, where the records were poor but the teams were losing the games hard-fought by close margins.  But Bland County should never be able to touch Graham, even in Graham's weakest years.

Incredible, you two have the nerve to question the sanity of statements, lol, and actually make posts where it's doubtful as to Bland beating Graham? I suggest you both seek help. Mental Illness is something they consider like strep throat nowadays, so you two shouldn't feel so bad. Boy, some fans you are by the way.

Graham 45, Bland 21. No contest.

Your comedic value is immeasurable!!!

You obviously have no idea just how bad Graham is this season...

Howdy, kettle. My, how awful black ya lookin' today!

Real fans don't get kicked off their fans' websites for being deluded nutsos. You commenting on someone's fandom is like Bill Clinton lecturing on chastity, or Eric Holder lecturing on foreign policy, or Obama lecturing on how to spend 5 waking minutes without failing at something.

Mental illness? LOL. The only mental illness here will be your own after the ban hammer rips your skull in twain.

Just to hear the name Obama makes me sick!

This is the 2nd worse Graham team I have ever seen, but I do not blame all of this on the kids. These coaches we have are absolutely horrible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have a brother who plays for GHS and thats the only reason I even go to the games is to cheer/support him. Mike Williams needs to go back to coaching little league somewhere and leftwhich should apply for Food City and learn to start bagging groceries. As for the defense of Cord. I have no words on him, I mean just look how many points they give up week in and week out... Graham will beat Bland but like every Friday night it wont be pretty, my guess Graham 42 Bland 20. I will say this, Graham will have an amazing Basketball team this year so I'm really looking forward to that.

P.S. While i'm at it the Grahams radio announcers are horrible!!! They give you zero update on the game and all they do is talk about one player and how good he is, the next "Russell Wilson" they say!! but anyways I do feel sorry for the kids having to live out their high school careers playing for a bunch of clowns.

Graham will win. They may not be very good but they have enough athletes to hang 40 or more on Bland. Meade is a quick runner and honestly can be hard to contain. (I'm assuming he is playing)

I've heard a lot this year about the coaches at Graham and if true it is a shame. I've watched Graham twice this year, once against VA High in the scrimmage and against Tazewell and there is a ton of promise with that team. Lots of good looking kids and some real quick athletes.

I think they win 2 of the last 3. Fort will be tough for them.

Forgive my ignorance...is it still Bland/Rocky Gap?  I have not followed their team for many years.  Just curious.

Yes it is Bland/Rocky Gap.  They are 2 different schools but they are combined in sports.

It is now Bland County High School.  They consolidated into one school this year.

I agree about the announcers. I was listening Friday night because the honaker game wasn't on the radio and I was amazed at how bad they were. They were talking about fighting with the Galax announcers after the game because they were laughing at the end of the game. Don't no much about the team but there announcers are horrible!

I would love to see Bland beat Graham and this is coming from a graham fan and alum. I refuse to support the team until changes that need to be made are made. It goes way further than the coaches, it's the administration at the school too. If your daddy and mommy have money, you play sports at graham, if not you ride the bench. It has been that way for years and it's finally biting them in the butt.

It hasn't been that way for years. It started creeping in under Marrs and has continued under the current staff...not necessarily about money, more like who the kid is (or parents are) instead of what the kid can do on the field. And the results speak louder than words on a message board.

Only six seniors on the team and I know one is done for the season and another has been hurt, plus several other kids that were starters have been banged up at some point in time this season.

It should be a different story next year then. I didn't realize they were that young. Hang in there it should get better!
