Graham @ Gate City

I just hope GC doesn't play like they did their last 4 games. (minus the game at a weak Wise Central which they dominated) Graham might jump up and bite them on the arse if they come out flat as a pancake and aren't fired up. But I too am pumped to renew the rivalry. Will never forget the games against them with Housey in the backfield.....Some of the best games I've seen. Those guys used to be beastly!

I sure hope yall are right. ..but GC hasn't quite played the same since the Abingdon and Union games. Im hoping the coaches get in the play book past the introductory section this week....but only If they need to. If something isn't working.....I'd like to see them try another play aside from the 4 they run. I'd like to see a big win.....but I want our guys to stay humble as well and keep their head on their shoulders....so a hard fought closer game that's injury free would be alot better for us IMO.

Even if GC comes out completely flat, I still think GC wins by 28.

I look for us to come out strong after the week off. I can't believe we haven't played each other since 2000. Much like River Rat, I'm as pumped up about seeing Graham back on Legion Field as I am about it being a playoff game.

Well whether they bring the fans or not....we will be happy to welcome our old rivals back to Legion Field. It's a shame they don't have the fan base anymore. ...those young players would thrive off of the support from them. It will be loud at GC....so they won't know the difference in who is hollaring for who. .....except for the bells. They haven't got to be a part of the bells that are mainly fabricated down in Duffield VA...those have came about after the last match in 2000

I have more faith in the G-Men than some of you.  I think the best thing to happen to Graham is that some of these younger guys got some playing time.  I think the problem with Graham this year has been 1. Youth and 2. The serious lack of leadership...whether that be coaching or players on the field not stepping up....or whatever....

A couple of leaders seem to have emerged in Workman and Lee....The young kids replacing those who are / were injured have something to prove.... Graham is basically a J.V. team with a few juniiors added in there.  Only one senior that plays sees significant playing time at this point (If he is even back, haven't heard much about him lately).  Graham should be awesome in the near future with these kids getting the experience on the field that they are now... I like what I have seen since the Galax game.  The biggest improvement I have seen since early in the season is attitude....and to quote a line from Remember the Titans...."attitude reflects leadership"...... If you have no leaders on your team and you have a piss poor attitude and just lay down for other teams, you get what you get.  You don't quit on your team because you don't like the coach.

This is probably the youngest team graham has ever had...yet all they hear from the community is how bad the team is...15/16 year olds against 17/18 year olds usually come out on the losing end.... No matter who the coach is.    I for one am tired of hearing it.

Now if only the attitude of the community and fans could get back on track.... we may be onto something.

Gate City May beat them....maybe badly....but I don't expect Graham to just show up and hand them the game either, they will play hard until the end....regardless of the outcome.

Is Graham that down this year? Or did yall play them early on this year and they just managed to get better as the year went on and put together a small win streak? I can't rremember at what point Richlands played them

Graham was actually better earlier in the year, schedule got easier at the end 'cept for Fort Chiswell (refs and FC gave Graham that one).  Graham "struggled" with both Bland and Narrows...

If you're expecting the Graham of old...you're going to be highly disappointed...

Welp.....i guess GMan pretty much just took all the fun out of it for me haha I'm still pumped to see the two play again. ...no matter how good or bad each team may be. This isn't quite the same GC team of old either. I really just wanna see the Devils come out and be sharp....good ball control for once in 5 games.

I think it just like the old GC, special teams, 31 dive, and get great defense. May need to change to move far in the playoffs. The devils hit as hard as any team and so far it is working, hopefully the trend will continue. The middle linebacker is a monster and the punt returner is extremely special, the rest of the starters appear to be better than average to good. Can't ask for much more from a 2A school with limited numbers a ND limited coach's budget.

Well the punt returner that's so hard to defend is also our RB.....so running FB Dive all the time would take him out of the question for our offense....so that can't happen to be successful in the playoffs. We have 3 good backs in the backfield and have 2 or 3 solid receivers....we just don't utilize them enough.

If Graham has a passing game at all they can have success against GC at times. GC has always been notorious for never looking back for the ball on defense. Our secondary is okay with defending it. ....but they are very undersized which creates alot of bad mismatches. I'm suprised we did as well as we did against Union and their tall wide receivers.

Graham doesn't have a snow balls chance in hell of winning this game. 0 % chance. If they get lucky they may win the coin toss. They will lose by 50 some points. They don't deserve to be in the playoffs anyway. Wins against Grundy, Narrows, Bland, and a fluke against Fort. Are you kidding me? That is not a playoff worthy team. 3 wins against weak teams and 1 against an okay team. Graham coaches can't even spell football let alone coach it. Changes need to be made and made fast if Graham has any hopes of ever having a decent team again.

Only thing i'm going to say is with Workman at QB Graham beat a good Fort Chiswell team, with #15 @ QB they have beat 3 pitiful teams that are just horrible and thats putting it nicely! But Graham is young and will be good in the years to come. I'm going to the game fri night for one reason and that is to yell at the Clowns/Coaches from Salem, I want my voice heard and I will tell them to take off the G Star and not even ride back with the team, those 3 guys are the worse things that has ever happened to a school. Words don't describe the anger I have towards those cowards over there! Its sad to see a Graham home game with literally 200 hundred ppl in the stands and that might be counting a few extra. Better years to come HOPEFULLY! #GETRIDOFSALEM
