Central-Woodstock leaves two in scoring position in T11, Lebanon has 2-3-4 up in bottom half. Game still tied 1-1

 

Lebanon down in order in B11 on two F7's and F6. Just 6 pitches for Ansbro in that inning, that was needed. She's up to 145 and it's hot

Central-Woodstock wastes another leadoff single, this one by Autumn Shelton. Lebanon coming up in B13 of 1-1 game.

 

This is incredible, 13 in a row set down by Central's Bekah Ansbro. 3B Alex Mantz snags scorching liner to end B13. Still 1-1

Central-Woodstock can't score in T15, leave runner at second. Falcons have had their chances. Lebanon coming up in 1-1 game

 

Bekah Ansbro has retired 19 of last 20 batters she's faced, she has 18 K's. Central and Lebanon headed to 16th tied 1-1

# Lebanon wins in 16th inning on taylor woodlief homer

Lebanon senior Taylor Woodlief's final at-bat of her high school career is walk-off HR. Lebanon 2, Central Woodstock 1 in 2A state finals.

 

Twenty-eight years between state titles for Lebanon coach Shelia Adams. She led Honaker to the 1988 Group A crown. #HCSH #VHSL

 

This also means that all three Russell County schools (Lebanon, Honaker, Castlewood) have now won state softball titles. #HCSH #VHSL

VHSL Announces 2A All-State Softball Team

June 15, 2016

Page County's Kate Gordon selected 2A Player of the Year and Lebanon's Alan Knight named 2A Coach of the Year
 

Charlottesville, VA - The Virginia High School League 2016 Group 2A all-state softball team has been selected. Page County senior shortstop Kate Gordon earned her second straight selection as 2A Player of the Year, while Lebanon head coach Alan Knight was selected the 2A Coach of the Year after leading his Pioneers to the 2A state title.   Other teams will be announced as they are selected.

Fourteen (14) players were selected to the all-state squad, which includes - three pitchers, one catcher, four infielders by position, one flex, four outfielders, and one utility player. Only first-team all-region selections are eligible for selection to the all-state team.

Each all-state selection committee is comprised of eight softball coaches (4 from each Region).
