Neither will Glenvar and Martinsville.  Most would argue Giles and Pulaski also.

Salem, Pulaski, Glenvar, and Martinsville are NOT SWVA. I consider Giles to be SWVA though. They are the last SWVA team I consider when heading toward the NRV on 460. Also, Ft. Chiswell if you're on 81.

I would have to include Pulaski in SWVA, it is actually located more to the west than Giles is.

But Pulaski identifies as part of the NRV where as Giles doesn't. Or at least that's what the people I've talked to say.

Part of my reason for saying 77 is because between Ft Chiswell and Pulaski there isint a town. I dont want to say the area is empty but its sparsely populated and imo makes a natural dividing line.

That's why I do it as well. Also, the people in Pulaski identify themselves as NRV. I don't feel like Ft. Chiswell people do

I just figured all of this out!!! Finally once and for all we can settle this issue...  where does vapresps draw the SWVA line?

Don't know the geography well enough to give you a dividing line but when we tried dividing things up a few years back, we called this is the SWVA area...

I used to work in Northern Virginia, they think of it as Nova (Northern Virginia) and Rova (Rest of Virginia). They have Northern Virginia, to them Hampton Roads area is a close second. Richmond is a town with The state government. Winchester and Roanoke are back woods sheep herding truck stops, and the rest of Virginia may as well be a third world country. Those schools up there have 2,000 students and 200 fans, while we have 200 students and 2,000 fans. It is a different world.

I had a coworker from Roanoke once argue with me for a solid year that Oak Hill Academy was located in Tennessee.  Not North Carolina, where the campus lies less than a mile from it's border, but Tennessee.  Claims to have been to "numerous" games there and knows for certain the campus is in Tennessee.

That was more than a decade ago.  I still think he was confusing Oak Ridge, TN with Mouth of Wilson, VA.
