1. Glenvar 1-0

2. Giles 1-0

3. Clarke Co. 0-0

4. Brunswick 1-0

5. Union 1-0

6. Richlands 1-0

7. Goochland 0-1

8. Lee 1-0

9. Ridgeview 1-0

10. King William 1-0

At least the jokers included Richlands in their Top 10, despite Richlands being 4-5 spots too low. Putting a team at #1 who needed to rally to beat a ridiculously young, good-not-great 1A team?

Oh well. Keep winning and all that crap is just noise.

Va Preps are a joke....But I will say I think Glenvar should be #1 until someone actually beats them...winning a close game is still a win. I agree this poll is pointless....But I would have Richlands #2 and as of right now i'm not sure Giles is a top 10 team at all

I think having Glenvar #1 is fair,   like hokiebird7 said, and they should be until they loose.  And having any combination of either Richlands or Union 2nd or 3rd is the way to go .......at least until they play Friday,  and if it's a close game,  in my opinion the looser should probably still be in the top 5 or 6,  but I doubt preps would see it that way.

SWVA looks to have a strong presence in the top ten this week maybe ole Rod has taken us seriously. They had a photo of a Richlands player on VaPreps today. I fell out of my chair at work a coworker thought I was having a stroke. I would like to give Rod a chance, if he will listen to G-man and Ryan I might would join VaPreps just for S&G's.

Until Glenvar loses then they are top dog. Union and Richlands should both be in the top 5 and that may change after Friday.

I don't subscribe to the theory that the top dog MUST remain in the top spot until they lose. As a general rule of thumb, I like the theory, but I don't care for it as a black/white rule.

A one-week pass for a tight game like last week's is about as long of a leash as I like to see teams get.

Once moved Phoebus out of the top spot when they were undefeated for not looking "impressive enough", spent the next week in witness protection. LOL.

One could argue that Brunswick and Clarke are where they belong too. i have stated on here before that i believe that D 2 . . . Now 2A Has many more quality teams than D 3 Or now 3A. I dont care how good richlands or union are. . If They make it far enough they will meet somebody just as talented along the way.

As I put of VaPreps, my top five are:

1. Glenvar

2. Richlands

3. Brunswick

4. Union

5. Clarke

Giles is a very close 6, but I don't think they will go undefeated like the other 5 on here could (I also see Glenvar and Union losing)

I find 3A to be the most difficult of the rankings to put together for a couple of reasons...

1. It seems to be the class most spread out geographically, so it's harder to get a good look at all of them

2. Most seem to play a whole bunch of teams outside of 3A, so you don't get as many comparison games, and

3. More than the other classes, some 3A seem to be in very week districts while some seem to be in incredibly difficult ones

By the time the postseason rolls around, I almost always expect some 5-5 club to handily beat an 8-2 somewhere in the state

I agree about D 3. There are Some quality teams in D 3. But i think the talent gap is pretty wide from the top of the playoff bracket to bottom. D 2 is where the level competition is at once you get past the first round. Region 4 Division 3 Used to be especially weak. . With usually only two or three decent D 3 teams for the last several years of its existence.
