hhstigers7327 217 Report Share Posted October 8, 2015 Another big game for Honaker! Really hope the young tigers can bounce back and correct the mistakes they made against GW. Thoughts?
SWVAFB 218 Report Share Posted October 8, 2015 I watched Burton earlier in the season, and to say their Offensive line is huge is an understatement. It has to be right up there with the largest in SWVA. And those guys can block! The RB's hit the holes with some quickness too, and they have about 3 backs. The QB is pretty good also, and can throw with accuracy. In other words, Burton has a good ball club that will be hard to defend. I am sure they have improved in the last month, so to beat Burton, Honaker will have to limit Burton's possessions. It will be a good game.Best of luck to both teams. Lot of points at stake in this one!
redtiger 1,739 Report Share Posted October 8, 2015 The QB is solid. The FB is ok, Perrigan is a great athlete on the edge and the other Wing(I cant remember his name) is a legit ballcarrier. Their passing game is ok but the heart of the team is the line. They are big(not huge), especially at the tackles. I wouldnt be surprised if Honaker dropped this one. Two tough games back to back. SWVAFB 218 Report Share Posted October 8, 2015 I guess the Honaker fans will have to judge for themselves just how big those hogs are!
Union_Fan 2,148 Report Share Posted October 8, 2015 Big, huge, enormous, gigantic, large, gargantuan........however you want to describe Burton's line, 2/3 300 lb lineman for a 1A team is nothing to sneeze at. I'm pulling for the Raiders because Union needs the Power Points.
Bigrhsfan 884 Report Share Posted October 8, 2015 Honaker is my 2nd favorite team. My wife graduated from there and teaches at one of the local elementary schools so we go to a few of their games every year. I will be pulling hard for Honaker in this game, but, I am afraid that Burton may have too much size and speed for the tigers this year. I think Burton wins this game, but I hope the Tigers find a way to pull it out.
big ugly vol 92 Report Share Posted October 9, 2015 I think this will be a test for that vaunted Raiders line. Haven't seen them this year, but heard a lot of the same stuff about them last year. They lacked a lot of nasty. Would love to see this one.
SWVAFB 218 Report Share Posted October 10, 2015 JI Burton's shutout win over Honaker 28-0, is impressive. I think Burton just may be the best 1ATeam in the west. I know Honaker is not as strong as is the past several years, but Burton along with G Wythe and Radford are the top 3 in the west at this point.. hhstigers7327 217 Author Report Share Posted October 10, 2015 Beating Honaker at this point is nothing special at all. We are really bad team overall.
hhstigers7327 217 Author Report Share Posted October 10, 2015 But I do agree Burton is legit!
Blue_Crue 49 Report Share Posted October 10, 2015 Did playing such a tough game Monday and then turning around and playing on 3 days rest have any effect on the Tigers????
hhstigers7327 217 Author Report Share Posted October 10, 2015 I mean they came out flat yes BUT we are just so young everywhere on the field that we are not a good team. We can't finish drives and don't tackle. I could go on and on.
