Giles at Glenvar game

Hats off to Glenvar on a hard fought win tonight and Hats off to my spartans for showing a lot of heart tonight in defeat....Bottom line is Giles had chances and couldn't capitalize on them and Glenvar kicked a FG with a little over a minute left to win it 16-14....Glenvar really played well in the 2nd half.

Note to Richlands and Union fans----If you play Glenvar you damn well better have your offense ready....their defense is VERY VERY good...I think it's the best defense Giles has played against in at least the last 10 years and maybe more....Their DL is absolutely dominate. I think Richlands would have a shot against them because of their passing attack but IMO NOBODY and I mean NOBODY is going run on this team if they are at full strength...I will be rooting for anyone against them though.

Glenvar is well coached(even though I think he is a major tool) and a few of their players(especially #2) are classless pricks but once again this year they are going to be a tough out come playoff time. If we get another shot at them we will have a hard time beating them but that's why they play the game.

Giles just needs to regroup and get ready for a very good Radford offense next Friday....But I have full confidence in our players and coaches that they will put this tough loss behind them and go forward starting Friday.

My buddy said he saw that Richlands head coach(his name I can't remember at this time LOL) at Highlander field tonight...wonder what he was doing there LOL...I talked to his dad at halftime and his dad is a great guy also

I was there I didn't see anything that would make me want to call anyone a classless prick and I wouldn't if I did. What I did see is two very good football teams playing with passion and heart. Players on both side were helping each other up and it was a very good hard fought ball game. Glenvar will be tough to beat and their defense is the real deal. I would love to see these two teams play again and Im hoping they will get the chance in the playoffs.

Giles should want to see anyone except Glenvar. Giving a team that's not familiar with the single wing a week to prepare gives Giles a advantage that they wouldn't have against Glenvar. Not saying that they would beat Union or Richlands

I like Union or Richlands either one in a matchup vs Glenvar. Ain't like either team doesn't have a defense to go with their offenses. As a matter of fact, IMO, teams had better dread drawing Union or Richlands...not the other way around.

Glenvar was the underdog in every game in the playoffs last year. Wilson Memorial said the same in the state championship. They said Glenvar will not score. Everyone picked Giles to win tonight. BTW Didnt Glenvar beat Union last year? Glenvar finds a way to win.

Not a Richlands fan but they have one of the best defenses in the state too. Wade, Holmes, and Addison lead a very physical front seven that has only had two teams rush for more than 50 yards on them.

And those two teams have a combined 1 loss. I'll take this defense over any other around.

For the record, I've been steadfast on Glenvar winning all week. Lol.

Union last year and Union this year are two completely different animals..

I absolutely know how Floyd Mayweather feels now. Every opponent talks how they gonna do this and gonna do that, but when it's showtime they don't show up. I guess we have to wait and see what happens!

I'm not saying Glenvar isn't good. Don't take it as a slight to they. They are the defending champions and until they are knocked out, they will get my respect. That said, from what limited video I've seen of them, I feel like their offense is a bit down. That could change in a heartbeat and they could catch fire. Any team could. Just my outside observation.
