Predictions for round two?

1. Appomattox

2. Richlands

3. Giles - this is a mild upset.  The first game was a close and it is hard to beat a good team twice in one year in high school.

4. Union.  Closer than most expect.

If I am right.  This should send Giles to Appomattox and Richlands back to Union.

Giles would go to Union, Richlands would go to Appo

Appomattox and Richlands are the easy ones.

If Union comes to play, they win. If they don't, Graham will have a trip to the TRD next week.

Giles and Glenvar are a complete toss-up to me, although I wouldn't mind another shot at Glenvar.

Gilliam has the 2A 2nd round projected as follows.

Appomattox 35 Dan River 8

Richlands 33 Buckingham 29

Giles 29 Glenvar 28 OT

Union 29 Graham 26

I know it is a computer model but his score predictions from round 1 were phenomenal, hitting several scores almost right on the money.  His predictions are very interesting on several fronts.  First, I would be shocked if Buckingham plays Richlands that close.  Second, Glenvar hasn't given up more than 15 points in any game all season.  It is hard to imaging they would give up double that amount now.  I believe Giles will win the game but scoring will be much lower.  Third, Graham has improved significantly throughout the season.  Union will have it's hands full Friday night and Gilliam believes as much, also.

1. Appomattox by 21 (unbeaten at 10-0; and beat Dan River 35-7 in week 6 )

2. Richlands by 14 ( Buckingham is winning by 47 to 14 margin; lost to unbeaten Appox by14-7 in 1st gm of season)

3. Glenvar by 7 ( Hard to beat Glenvar at home with strong defense)

4. Graham by 3 ( Very Hot team, capable of this upset )

Calpreps picks Northside to beat AHS 31-21. I'm pulling for the boys of course but I'm afraid they will just have to much for us. 31-21 sounds like a reasonable prediction considering it's at Northside. Reed and Colobro might just call a great game and best them. Go Falcons!

(sorry, didn't mean to sabotage the thread, but this comment wasn't worth a whole new thread)

I agree. Hate to put pressure on the Abingdon offense, but I honestly feel their only chance to win is if they're able to turn this game into a shoot out.

Appomattox
Richlands - I'll be happy with a 1 point win !   I just want a win !   survive and advance...
Giles -  this one is a head scratcher,  could go either way,  but I have to pull for my friends at Giles
Union

Are you upset cause I didn't pick your team? I believe Defense wins Championships. As for Graham, I believe they are a sleeper team that could make things interesting. However, their Defense may need to step up.
