GC to GC?

Recommended Posts

I may live in Big Stone, well not exactly in Big Stone more closer to Norton in a split foyer inside the BSG city limits.

I realize people may not like what I post on here but I calls it as I sees it and I also hears it.

Wow! And has I been hearing it! I happen to be a person in Wise County who knows a few people who are friends "on the inside" of the inner circle of some of the Gate City "elite" as he calls them.

I think these people must be like what the shadow government is like to our own political system? That's another story though. (Go Trump!!)

The big news I am hearing from the Elitist be that GC didn't have any person man or woman good enough experienced enough or that they trust enough to coach the Devil program from the inside.

Now the plan is to try and bring in a certain DB coach over to the real football state out of retirement and put him in the same position he held with DB in Kingsport.

Maybe he can bring over some of those Kingsport recruits as well and help GC become good enough to actually try and beat us for a change. Seems like those GC people can finally see the writing on the wall.

We, Union, are going to be around for a while and they want someone who has the capability to beat us.

I know other people from Big Stone who have close dealings and work in Scott County and have friends there. Not "elitist" friends though. Common peasants friends is all.

They had not heard anything as of yet so I know this person knows whats up.

Whoever your applicants are I think GC has this job in GC.

If it is for sure, then welcome Coach C to SWVa football and the Union BEARS.

We welcome the uh.... Challenge. We hope you do because you are in for one.

As a spectator I think the GC coach has some major obstacles and here is what I see that has to happen:

1) Play people you can beat. Union does and it doesn't hurt us one beat. Gate City isn't the Dallas Cowboys. Wait bad example. They do not beat anyone either. You get my picture though.

2) Energize your fan base.

BEST FANS in SWVA

A. Tie Union and Richlands

B. Gate City fans have about as much energy at a football game as Powell Valley Memorial Gardens does at midnight. Idk. That place may actually have more.

Whoever gets your program good luck to them. Beware though new HC at GC. The fans are only great when when you win a state championship. They are not even close to happy when you just win a region championship. They are very upset when you just win a conference championship. Very angry if you just win 6 games. Ready to tar and feather you if.you win 5 or less.

Points wise:

They yell and scream when you are winning by 40. They sit on their hands win you are winning by 20. They criticize you if you are winning by 10 or less. They start cussing you if it's a tie game. They look to slash your tires and buat out your windshields if you lose. Then they go to church on Sunday and praise Jesus!

Yes! See?? I DO know people who know the ELITIST in GC.

Good luck coach! You are going to need it!

Just my opinion but the Bears will have their hands full with GC this year.. Hunter Collier back with McClung and others. Bears barely scraped their way back last game to beat GC.. I'm not from Union or GC..The schedule GC plays in early season is that which a few teams only face in playoffs. Bears will be a good team...will they be as good as last year is yet to be seen. Richlands lost a ton of great seniors too.. Don't know if they will be as good as last years team.. Time will tell. Teams may have guys who will step up and amaze their fan base.

To beat Richlands, you're gonna have to outscore Richlands, IMO. And that may take 42+ to beat the RHS offense. Only losing RB and one WR, and adding in the Graham transfer, the only real question for the Richlands offense is RB. The defense is the unit that lost the most. So it may take a few games for that unit to gel. I could be wrong, but I think it's gonna take 42 or more to beat Richlands this year unless a team has a special defense (ala Appo last season).

I quit reading and started cursing when they added failed humor, imho anyway, toward the Dallas Cowboys. After I calmed down, I finished the WHOLE story like the addict I am. So here it goes and as they say, "I tell 'em like I read 'em".

This person may or may not live in Norton or Big Stone. They know someone who knows someone from Gate City...................Sorry, had a finger cramp. This person from GC claims to know or be behind the inner workings of the GC football program. No ordinary guy mind you, he's the type that has the answer to "Is there another word for synonym?" The only guy to beat the crap out of Chuck Norris "elite" type of guy. Anyhow, GC guy is trying to persuade a retired coach from Dobyns Bennett to come on over to GC. Oh yeah, he may even bring some good players with him from Tennessee. The writer cheers for Union (Oh, they do live in Big Stone!!!) and really really really X million doesn't want to lose to Gate City. The writer also knows people from Big Stone who by circumstance know other people from Scott County. (It really is a small world.) Apparently there isn't any significant value to these Scott Countians. They know jack squat about GC football...............I gotta go, it's late and my whole damn hand is numb now.

I'd bout bet anything that Richland's will score 42 points in ever regular season game as long as the QB stays healthy. If he goes down then it could be a tough road ahead.the wr core will be better than last year's and that says alot.

On another note, pertaining to the GC headcoaching position.....I've heard that it's in fact Robbie Norris's to lose. It's his if he wants to take it.

I also do know that Reed and one of the Houserights applied (thinking it was Jeremy). But heard that the school board wanted someone without direct ties to GC.

They wanted Robbie at the low end of the salary spectrum and he asked for the high end, he also had some other concerns not addressed but it was mainly money squabbling. Justin Hilton from Sullivan South is the favorite now, Jeremy did get an interview and is a finalist, as well as Todd Tiller and Chris Akers, Norris was the fifth finalist.

Well this info that I got was was from several days ago. I'm assuming all this transpired in the past couple of days or something like that? I hadn't heard anything about the South Coach nor had I heard about Tiller. Where are Akers and Tiller from? Don't recall the names.

Tiller played at Haysi for James Colley and was an All-State center. He played college ball at E&H before a knee injury ended his career. He has coached at Castlewood, Grundy and C.D. Hylton . He is 38. He currently coaches at Ft. Chiswell.

Akers played at Graham for Coach Carlock (the good one) and has coached at George Washington and William Fleming, He is 35. He currently coaches at Rural Retreat.

Justin Hilton is South D cord. and is 35.
