Warriorsguy 1 Report Share Posted September 27, 2016 Whose got the advantage? Whose hurt/not playing?
IRISH-FAN18 323 Report Share Posted September 27, 2016 If Central's healthy I give them the advantage but if not it should be a interesting game. Grundy's D is pretty physical and experienced. They don't miss a lot of tackles but a team with speed would likely give them issues and that's why Central needs Mullins and Jesse healthy. I'll lean toward Central till I know more. Union_Fan 2,155 Report Share Posted September 28, 2016 I was impressed with Grundy in the Norton Jamboree. I believe they have played Union in a jamboree every year going back to 2012. This was by far their best showing. #25 is an athlete and tough player. Admittedly, I haven't seen Central play this year, and I could be completely wrong, but I think this will be a close game. If Mullins is 100% healthy I would take Central easily, but if he's still hobbling around Grundy might get the upset.
Old_Rebel 37 Report Share Posted September 30, 2016 I think Grundy if they bang can get it done. Both teams well coached.
West12aaa 99 Report Share Posted September 30, 2016 I believe this game shows that grundy is now in the mid tier of the mountain district. It will be a hard fought game but I see wise's schedule experience kicking in, or this might be an eye opener. Old_Rebel
rebel1 35 Report Share Posted September 30, 2016 I think Grundy gets out this week with a win. Their backfield will wear Central down. Should be a good game into the 4th quarter. Old_Rebel
redtiger 1,740 Report Share Posted September 30, 2016 Grundy has advanced to that point. Mid MD is probably right but the MD is Union and then all the other teams other than Battle are pretty close(and Battle has improved).
West12aaa 99 Report Share Posted September 30, 2016 I see the MD as three tiers Tier 1 Union unless otherwise Tier 2 Lee/GC Tier 3 Rv/wc/jsb This will change by next week, think of this as a power rankings Lee vs GC and WC are measuring sticks GC vs Rv should be good Union starts the district schedule and hopefully don't get trapped. redtiger and Hokie Bound
Warriorsguy 1 Author Report Share Posted September 30, 2016 Personally I think Grundy will be the one woredown and overmatched. Yes they are undefeated but also started 4 and 0 last year...they have a weak first half of season. With the Mullins kid playing and a 100% DE/OL #71 it will be hard for Grundy to pull this one out. LongTimeSWVAFan 36 Report Share Posted September 30, 2016 Central has to win this one. Can't afford to drop a third game with the three games they finish up with, @Union, @Lee and GC. They lose tonight and they may have a hard time getting in the playoffs.
LongTimeSWVAFan 36 Report Share Posted September 30, 2016 Side note off of my last post, can Grundy all but lock up a playoff berth with a W tonight?
IRISH-FAN18 323 Report Share Posted September 30, 2016 Side note off of my last post, can Grundy all but lock up a playoff berth with a W tonight? I'd say Grundy locked up a playoff birth after beating Honaker. Getting five wins normally will do it.
Ryan4VT 4,553 Report Share Posted September 30, 2016 They're pretty much locked now. But a 6th win would be a 100% lock.

Warriorsguy 1 Author Report Share Posted October 1, 2016 Good, hard running and a decent passing game makes me eat my words...good game Grundy. Hats off to ya
Union_Fan 2,155 Report Share Posted October 1, 2016 Had Mullins not gotten injured, and had Central held onto the ball, I think they would have eeked out a win, but he did and they didn't. Grundy still has some things to improve upon, but they have a solid team, and it's evident that they are making improvements. Nothing cheap or undeserving about their win. cowboysnskynyrd
redtiger 1,740 Report Share Posted October 1, 2016 Turnovers killed Central. It's hard for any team to win when their best two players are out, turn the ball over 7 times and you're not going to win. If Central holds on to the ball they win, they moved the ball up and down the field all night. Best team Grundy has had in YEARS. bigcotton
