Hey Stu,

I hate the way SOME Richlands fans act myself,  but believe me,  it works both ways,  and what I mean by that is,  that back in the 70's and part of the 80's when the Dogs were winning the majority of the matchups,  I worked with, played golf with, and was around some Tazewell fans that were just as bad...........believe me,  I heard it almost every day when you guys beat us.  It may be a little worse now by some  of the Blues fans because of all of the scocial media stuff,  but I bet if twitter and facebook and the forums were around back then it would have been the same.  I'm not making excusses for the way some have acted, but it happens with every fan base.

I always try to remain humble about the success the blues have had for the Mance era because that's the way I was taught and I also know that everything changes over time and the success we have been blessed with could, and probably will come to an end at some point.  I know some or most will point to this year and say it already has come to an end,  but this is one year and we had a lot of turnover on offense, plus one of the toughtest schedules in AA,  so I think we are allowed a tough season this year.  I guess we will see how things go from here.

I do wish the dogs good luck the rest of their season and think they have a very bright future ahead of them now.

Now as far as the graham game goes,  I feel pretty much the same as a lot on here do.  I think the Blues will play hard and give Graham a good game,  but I am worried that Grahams speed and talent at the skill positions will be the difference in the game.  The blues are big and deep,  but just have a lack of speed that has hurt them this year and it will again in this game.  It hurts me to say that as much as I love the Blues,  but I am a realist.  I love how hard they have played,  but just have had a tough time matching up with the speed some of the teams have had and Graham has plenty of it as well. Some of the injuries the Blues have suffered since the start of the season hadn't helped,  but all teams have to deal with that during the course of a season.  I sure hope that I am very wrong about this game though.  I hate to pick against my blues so with all that I just said,  I will still go ahead and pick the Blues to win 24 to 21 with a Levi fieldgoal being the difference.  I just can't make myself pick against them !

I know this is the morning after but I went back and read this post which made me think back to when I was a kid growing up and cheering for the Bulldogs. I had never been to a game at Grundy before and the week of the game people were telling me, "Oh I hear the last time, Tazewell went to Grundy, they slashed the tires on the band bus and stabbed a few people and threw them into the bushes!". Well naturally I was scared to death  to go, but of course we had to go watch my brother play so off we went. Of course nothing happened and years later, I got to know several people from Grundy when I was in college who were some of the nicest people I've ever met on earth. It's a shame that a few fans from a each school tend to ruin the perception for everyone else.

Gotta consider the source, Ryan.  Be careful.  Butt hurt could be contagious. And we all know @Bulldogs52 has more butt hurt than anyone on this board.

I’m just telling ya what I heard from people sitting behind me! Pretty sure @MulDaddy can tell ya the same!

That was said. Some of the comments made by Richlands "fans" were more interesting than the game. I know not all fans talk, yell, or scream at the players and coaches during the game but some do and maybe out of frustration. Literally yelling at how the qb stinks, etc etc. is uncalled for IMO. These bleacher coaches that had sat behind us was really letting the comments fly. I've heard these guys before there, coming from a Tazewell atmosphere this was really unusual at a Richlands home game for me.

I think he should have. Would he have gotten it? I kinda doubt it, but I think he has to. It gives them the better chance. You have all the momentum on your side for the first time all night, and in the back of your head you have to know how tough it would be to stop Graham in OT considering they only have to go a quarter of the field.

Ten yards.

Seems to me that we all have been a little spoiled with the success that the Blues have experienced over the past decade.  Don't like to hear all the negativity coming from the fans when the team needs fan support more than ever.  I know everyone has an opinion and freedom to express it, but we all need to realize that these players are just kids trying to do the best they can.  In expressing my opinion, I wonder why we didn't use the run package that's been developed over the last few games with a full back and two tight ends, especially in the overtime.  As I said before, its just an opinion, but at no time should we as fans be showing our lack of knowledge of the game by screaming at the coach or picking on our players (kids) the way I heard some of the fans in the crowd doing repeatedly.  As fans we all need to get behind the team and let the players know that we will always support them no matter what the outcome of the game. Go Blues!!!

I agree 100%!

It's sickening to hear what some fans say about these youngsters sometimes. I would bet that most fan bases have a couple of people like this. I know we do in Bristol, and I have become notorious for being that guy that if I hear that crap, regardless of team, I am saying something. These are young kids for ****'* sake. To criticize is one thing. To degrade is entirely different. I would love to see those people that are degrading the youngsters to get their sorry asses out there and play.

We see it more here in Bristol in baseball, I guess because the expectations are higher, but that's no excuse. During every baseball game, we have 2 very old men who I have dubbed Statler & Waldorf, the 2 cranky old men who sit in the balcony and bad-mouth everyone on the Muppets. These 2 are just much worse.

Let's just say that they used to sit pretty close to me. I took care of that lol

I'm like Bigrhsfan, I came out of the 70s and remember more bad than good from that time.   The last ten years have been a blessing that I will always treasure.

Unfortunately good times grows fans that expect winning all the time, if you have read this board for any length of time you know a few of those, all schools have them.

Time always  has a way of humbling them.  I had a uncle who moved to Tazewell back in the 60s with his boys, would bet G-Man was good friends with him.

Before I knew what football was one of his son's was always rubbing it in when them Dogs beat Richlands. Time changes things back and forth if you are around long enough to notice.
