Only the top 2 are capable of outpointing the probable Region D winner. That would be Glenvar and Appomattox.

Glenvar could max out at 270 pts for a rating of 27.
Appo could max out at 249 pts, but that is divisible by 9 because their game with Fork Union doesn't count. That would be a rating of 27.6

So, technically it is possible if ALL games go their way.

The guy from Gretna on preps seems to think that Glenvar will end up 26.8 and Appo at 26.778. He knows the teams out that way far better than me I'm sure, so let's hope that he's correct.

Thank you sir

Very interesting tidbit from today's BHC, they picked Grayson County to beat George Wythe tonight... hmmmmmmmmm....

I saw that. I believe it's because GW is a tad down from previous years, this year. They are still a pretty good team, but I wouldn't be surprised at all if GC wins. They pushed Marion to the limits, which GW did not (I know, I know, common opponents typically don't mean a whole lot). With that said, I still picked GW in the Pick'em lol.

Of course, they also picked us to beat Marion, and you and I have talked about the Bristol media and their "feelings" for all VHS sports that aren't baseball. Whoever made the picks may have been drinking last night lol.

Allen Gregory normally does the 2A and Abingdon picks.  Tim Hayes normally does the 1A and Nate Hubbard normally does the Tennessee side I believe.  Since Grayson is 2A and GW is 1A, not sure who would've made that pick.  I'm going to guess Tim did, since GW being the 1A is in the coverage area and Grayson is not.

Yeah, I knew who does the picks of games when they are the same class but was unsure as well when teams crossed classes. I'd say you're right.

From what I saw of Grayson, they have the kids to do it.  If you have a physical O-Line though, you should be able to control the ball and clock and take care of them.  If GW doesn't show up with their heads up their rear ends, I'll take GW by 2 TD's.  If not, Grayson has the team and the scheme to pull it off at home.

Hard work man, congrats! VHSL needs to simplify & go back to old days when "district" champs went on to playoffs or a maximum two from each conference. There's way too many teams competing in a regional playoff but it's about the almighty $$$$. A lot of those teams have no business in playoffs just my humble opinion.

I think this year is better than when there were 16.  The 8 teams that get in will all be pretty solid, and the first few games for traveling teams will be closer.

Thanks, again!

So, the Bearcats are locked at 4, unless Marion were to upset Graham, Battle were to upset Union, or Honaker were to upset Ridgeview?

I like the 2nd scenario the best, lol. I think we matchup with Lee a little better than Richlands and at 270, according to a post I read elsewhere, we'd have more points than any team in region C, assuming we win region D.

I know that over on VA Preps someone did the math and no matter what. Even losing to battle UNION locked up the #1 seed last night. So everything runs thru the park start camping out now. Its going to be a great November in SWVA.

That’s not correct. I can guarantee you if union loses to battle union would be the number 3 seed.
