McClung needs 83 points to break Caleb Tanner’s VHSL career scoring record in:

  • 1 game:      83.00 ppg
  • 2 games:    41.50 ppg
  • 3 games:    27.67 ppg

Fixed that for you...

Thanks, @GMan, LOL

Is it because I was underestimating his chances of hanging 83 in one game, or because I was being presumptuous about GC having at least two more games?

How is Radfords defense ?

Martinsville struggles to score, but with that being said Radford plays very good team defense. Good pressure out front and have enough size to make it hard to score at the basket. And they have about 4 guys who can shoot the lights out or have the quickness to get by you to get to the basket. They are going to be a hand full for anybody. Morton-Robertson is the real deal.

How do we break the transitive property tie between Graham and North Mecklenburg?  Bluefield would obviously be 1 point better, but inquiring minds need to know.

Either one play Ridge Rock?  In a night of upsets they took down North Meck last night.

I thought it was Rocky River HS?

It was. Although the result should be considered an upset, it’s certainly no fluke. Rocky River star Jaden Springer has been playing the game at a ridiculous level all over the world as a member of USA Basketball.

He is also high on Virgina Tech as a potential college home.

Points will be tough to come by against Graham, but he did put up 30+ last time.  If GC beats Graham, he will surely get it as the teams from the East are not as defensively oriented.  It's likely that SW VA may never have another player with this opportunity.

I dont know about that.  The top 3 players on the list are from west of Roanoke currently.  The freshman from Honaker is off to a great start as well scoring more points as a freshman than any other freshman in VHSL history according to some reports.

Score 50 points and lose to Graham would be a double heartbreaker!
