Clemson’s band is just as bad about “Tiger Rag”, as is UT-Knoxville’s band about “Rocky Top”. The lack of creativity for collegiate marching bands is astounding. 1inStripes 932 Report Share Posted January 12, 2018 Tennessee mixes it up with Rocky Top and Down the Field (the actual school fight song) for different parts of the game. A few others get mixed in as well throughout for timeouts and whatnot but those are the two main tunes played though.

My memory is based in large part on the 2007 NCAA Tournament, which I attended, when UVA met Tennessee. They played 19 different times, of which Rocky Top was 14 of them. swva_havok_fan

swva_havok_fan 1,261 Report Share Posted January 12, 2018 When they play Rocky Top at the Arby's for those halftime dancers, I instantly go into rage beast mode, where I want to chokeslam someone through a flaming table like Bills fans. I would say the same about Enter Sandman but you can dial that up on any rock radio station 7 days a week. Its sad that a school like Tech cant even produce a decent atmosphere without relying on music being pumped in to get their fans fired up. They had to find a way to have a top 3 entrance in all of college football that has a popular song in it. Poor us.

With the lighting in Cassell Coloseum being what it is, “Enter Sandman” might not be that farfetched a prognostication for most of the crowd. 1inStripes

Funny how that “high school” entrance constitently outranks UT’s “real” entrance year after year after year after year after year after year after year after year after year.
