As usual it can be tough to sort through little league websites, but this is what I could find on our little league teams.

Both Big Stone and Bluefield are 0-2 in pool play in the 8-10 baseball division losing to Tuckahoe and McIntire.  Big Stone and Bluefield will face each other on Monday.  Washington County is 2-0, beat Cave Spring, 13-3, to open play and then won over Churchland today, 13-5.  Washington Co. faces West Springfield on Monday to finish pool play, they should move on to elimination bracket on Tuesday regardless of outcome.

Bristol's junior league team went 1-2.  Lost to York County (16-1) and Broadway (19-9), the win coming against Fleet Park (16-2).

Abingdon's senior league baseball team is 2-0 so far and shutout their first two opponents (King William, 6-0; Fleet Park, 7-0).  They play Lower Loudoun on Monday.   Lee's senior league team lost to Lower Loudoun in their first game, 2-1, won over Olive Branch in the losers bracket today, 16-2.  Lee will face Coles on Monday.  Lebanon finishes 0-2 in the tournament losing to Louisa, 5-4, in their first game and knocked out by Ashland today, 13-1..

Little League and 9-11 baseball divisions haven't started yet.  Coeburn/Twin Springs combined team will represent District 13 in both divisions.  Tazewell will rep both div. for D-11.  Abingdon D-1 rep for Little League.  Both divisions open up play Friday, July 20.

In 8-10 softball, Coeburn went 2-1 in pool play, lost to Atlee, 3-0 in first game, beat Honaker, 4-2, and finished pool play today by beating Prince William County, 22-5.  Coeburn advances on to the elimination bracket to play Richmond County, Monday morning, in the quarterfinals.  Honaker went 1-2 in pool play with a win over McLean, 7-2, losing to Coeburn, 4-2, and then losing to Bridgewater, 17-0, today.  Honaker faces Central Accomack in the quarterfinal round Monday afternoon.  Gate City finished 1-2 in pool play, picking up a win today over Poquoson, 15-5.  GC does not advance to elimination play.

In 9-11 softball, Richlands went 2-2 in tournament play, battled back through the losers bracket and finished a game shy of playing in the championship game...lost opener to McLean, 11-0, then went on a 2 game winning streak in the losers bracket beating Gordonsville, 11-0, and Woodstock, 15-2.  Richlands bowed out today with a loss to Chesterfield County, 20-0.  Damascus/Marion team went 0-2 in the tournament, losing to McLean (13-1) and Woodstock-Edinburg (7-4).

Honaker's junior league softball team went undefeated and won the junior league state championship today!  They rolled to a 14-0 win over Shore in the first game, beat Mathews, 10-0, in their 2nd game, and then won handily over Chesterfield County today in the championship game, 13-3.  Honaker moves on to the Southeast Regional, the first game will be July 20, 1 p.m., in Salisbury (NC) against Hite-Saunders (WV).  Saltville/Chilhowie team went 0-2 in the tournament (lost to Mathews, 16-1, and Woodstock-Edinburg, 16-6).

Bluefield's senior league softball team is in the championship game going 3-0 so far in the tournament.  Bluefield won their opener over Prince William County, 10-0, beat Hugenot, 7-4, in the next game, and defeated Olive Branch, 3-2, today.  Bluefield will face either Olive Branch or Central Accomack in the championship game on Monday.  A win puts Bluefield in the Southeast Regional tournament in Salisbury (NC) on July 20.

Little League division softball hasn't started yet.  Norton will represent District 13, Tazewell will rep. D-11, and Washington County will rep. for D-I.  Tourney begins Friday, July 13.

This is far more impressive than most may realize.  Bluefield (and by extension, Graham) has been historically abysmal at softball.  To see a team from Bluefield advancing in softball would be like me waking up and discovering that UVA has made the CFP.  Congrats to those young ladies, and may they continue onward and upward.
