  1. If you will notice my user name "Blue 72", that alone should be enough to tell you I am not a Tazewell Fan!!!, I am True Blue all the way, but out of respect for the players and coaches who work their butts off so we can enjoy the Friday Night Lights, I wish all the area teams well, and when I see or hear someone putting any area team down and saying they are doing this wrong or doing that wrong, it makes me wonder just where they are getting their info. Don't misunderstand me, I'll be the first to tell you that most area teams have some of what you call "Hold Backs", but that is a parents decision, not a coaches decision. For someone to call anyone arrogant for a parents decision and the results thereof, makes me wonder where their information comes from. I'm sure you pull for your team just as much as the Tazewell fans pull for theirs, hopefully no one labels you as arrogant for your support. So calm down and enjoy the bright lights. You Tazewell Fans keep screaming you heads off and showing up for all the players and coaches you have. This is one Blue Tornado fan who appreciates the support you show for your team.

  2. I can agree with posting and its lack of emotion. Sometimes a person can be taken completely wrong and then has to back up and clarify. I can honestly say people in Tazewell are realistic and know what we have. Optimism is very high because of the past several years. I also remember what was said about Hurley a few years back and agree that they thought they were going to beat everyone and they did although they had a weak schedule through no fault of their own. Several people were chirping very loudly all the time but not everyone. I'm sure there are some Tazewell fans that think we are going to kill Graham tonight but most everyone is realistic and respectful of the truth of our team. Of course everywhere has these types of fans some places more than others and unfortunately some of them make their way on here and ruin it for a school for some people. It was enough for me in what I saw from some fans back when I first got into football for me to form my opinion of Richlands and Gate City and I can't say will never change but slowly over time it is possible.

  3. I know that was so CHEEZY, I just had to say it. Here's to you my friend, have a good trip over, get a good meal at the Bearded Moose, cheer for your team and let the games begin. I know this is going to be a classic and the respect these two teams have for each other is a good reflection of their fan bases (well, most of them). Be safe in your travel, hope you enjoy your time in "Blues" country.

Also wish the same to all the fans and teams of all the games tonight ! It should be another great game and hope both teams come out of the game healthy ! Always look so forward to this matchup ! Good luck to both............but maybe just a little more for my Blues !

  5. I sat near the 50 yd line at the Ridgeview benefit game with Chilhowie. As I recall, the game was tied at 17 at half time. In the third quarter, Chilhowie scored on a 42 yd FG to make it 20-17 Chilhowie. Ridgeview got the ball and ran a series, but did not score. That was it as far as the first teams for the game. The 2's and 3's finished the game for both squads, with Ridgeview scoring 2 late TD's. The Adkins kid for RV did not carry the ball but about 1or 2 times in that 3rd quarter. I think he got shook up before half, and RV limited his play in the 3rd qrt. It was a very well played game for both squads in my opinion. The coaches for both teams did a good job in directing the format for the second half. These two teams are very good, and about even imo. One thing for sure. Ridgeview could not stop Chilhowie's Sanchez, and Chilhowie had their hands full with the Adkins kid. BOTH Blevins ( CHS ) and Sexton ( RV) did very well also. The QB's had a good game, and so did the D's. It was a benefit game, and all in attendance got the benefit of watching 2 good teams play.

  6. Too many athletes for the G-Men. Regardless how they did against bluefield, they are still the class of Southwest District. Graham 42 Tazewell 8

  8. Does that mean the Richlands' players should seek shelter inside the fieldhouse from oh, say....7-9 pm? At least the 1st string anyway. 🙂

  10. St. Charles was a booming place many years ago when coal was king in our region. Had a bank, a hot night spot, several stores and shops. Most of the families there were attached to the coal mines, and the school was full of tough, hard nosed kids that loved to play football. Not sure there is a sign that would tell you when you pass by, but in its hayday it was the place to be. Yeah I'm older, but even in the early 70's when I worked in that area, the town was like a ghost of what it once was. Chilhowie wins this one big time.

  12. I think that Richlands looked than Union better in their preseason tune ups last week, and I think Richlands D will be the reason they win. Union's going to have a nice year, but last year was their year and they couldn't get it done, and Union may have a better record at the end of the season than Richlands ( the Blues play a significantly tougher schedule) I am saying Richlands 34-24.

  13. Good read. Shows how close these teams play. Should be another good one.

  14. Let me be specific. Opening your mouth and throwing shade (as you called it) on any fan base of any team, shows your attitude, not mine. I respect your opinion and your post. I'm not attacking you, but be mindful,I did not, nor would I ever, call you ignorant or arrogant and don't appreciate you saying anyone's post on this board shows their ignorance. I have always been supportive of all who post on this board and all area teams. Sorry if I offended you in any way, just did not understand your intention of calling anyone arrogant for supporting their team, but if that is how it appeared to you I understand. Please forgive my misunderstanding. Hope you enjoy your day.

  18. who?

    Gc vs ab

What is wrong with gc?..read not one,but two letters to the editor in Kingsport Times the past week and that is a big reason we are down like we are. You are only as strong as your leaders. You got the super’s wife being rude to a 91 year old who been buying season tickets since 1963 and then you got fat man coming out to yell at him. All the while principal lane sits in his office and don’t have a care in the world. He don’t care about gc football, as a matter of fact his Nickelsville roots are probably glad gc failing. Need some changes up and down and it won’t get any better until school board has some changes. Even then, there is no guarantees. “God created idiots, then he created the school board”, Mark Twain

  19. Can you at least give a reason why you think they are not the best team in the coverage area? I'm a fan of neither Chilhowie or RV but, handling is what happened to Lee High at the Stone Castle. From all accounts, the 1's played each other fairly close in that "game".

    Graham vs Tazewell

Pretty sure no one from Tazewell is on here being arrogant, we know what he have and will have and know it's a work in progress!

  23. It is. The only thing I know about St.Charles is a tale I heard that back before consolidation they were known as the Midgets. Well, guess what the elementary had on their jerseys....The Little Midgets. I find it very hard to believe but, if I am not messing it up, I got that on good account. Also, if anyone doesn't think Bluefield is the legit #1 around here right now, I have the number to a few doctors that can examine your eyes, head, sanity.... I get that his or her lack of acknowledging this at this point is more than likely out of spite, but is that the hill you want to die on? It's only week 2.

  24. I don't understand why you don't even put Bluefield in your top 10, let alone number 1. But I hadn't called you out on it because you're entitled to your own opinion. But now I will, since you deem to call me out for being a Burton hater. So, where in the hell even is St. Charles, Va. anyway? Sounds almost as remote as Rowe, Drill and Putnam are.

    Graham vs Tazewell

Graham should win this game, but if they go into Bulldog Stadium thinking that it's going to be a cake walk, the G-Men will be heading back to Bluefield with a loss in week 2. I have seem both teams play and I see this being closer than what some people may think. I can see the score being close at halftime, and the youth of Tazewell will be the down fall in the second half. Graham 34 Tazewell 21
