IF Gate City makes the playoffs next season, it’ll be as a bottom seed, which will get trounced by a team like Union or Richlands in Round 1. Making the playoffs in Region D isn’t a huge accomplishment, as teams with losing records do it routinely. That being said, for the kids’ sake, that the situation improves. Seems like a strong-willed group of kids.

One of the LCC fans was telling us that the HC was the son in-law of Don Childress who owns everything in Eastern KY but Jesus. The guy can go 0-10 for 50 years lol

Damn good effort by the Bearcats tonight. 28-21 in the 4th quarter with the ball but an ugly pick six seals the deal. VHS played their best game of the season so far, against the best team they will see this season, by far.

Graham is the better team no doubt but Giles had many chances to pull away in this game. You can’t drive down inside the 20 yard line 3-4 times and come away with nothing. I’ll also give the G-men defense credit for bending but not breaking. Too many fumbled snaps and penalties in the red zone. Graham will win more games but I can’t rank them in my top 5 yet. If their line improves than they could be dangerous come November. Allen is a great athlete but he is definitely a better runner than passer. Great effort by the Spartans for keeping it close while losing key players.

Final Graham 28 Giles 13. Prayers for the injured Giles players for a quick recovery. Good luck to the Spartans the rest of the way

GW is still GW. May not be the constistent dominant team but will show signs of it at times. They're well coached and play hard. It paid off tonight.

Another thing I will say and I am sure you Union folks will have no problem with this. Get there early! The Ridge was packed tonight. Probably the best crowd we've had up there. I had to park darn near up at the school. I'm sure it's only going to be more crowded next week.

Gonna be a great game, that will be decided in the trenches I believe. O-line and D-line play will be crucial. Can’t wait to watch this game. Bears - 24 Wolfpack - 21

The arm strength really sticks out. Some people at the game tonight who hadn’t seen him play let out a collective, “woah” when he started slinging the ball around.

He's certainly got the tools to be a dandy one. Good frame and strong arm. Once her gets the reps down and accuracy up he'll be solid.

Any word on how he's doing? I sure hope nothing serious & he's okay. Hate to see any player get injured.

LCC gave up early in third quarter, calling an inside run on 4th and 5 deep in their own territory when Union had totally shut down the run all night. The coaching for LCC was flat out terrible.

Agreed Union_Fan #2 QB threw the ball very well. Very well balanced attack. Should make for an interesting ballgame next week!!! Go Bears!!!

Giles solved themselves in the foot all night. Two of Giles skill players were injured which doesn't help. GIles should have been up by 2 touchdowns at one point. Giles will be fine all things considering being a young team. Hopefully the injuries aren't seasoning ending for the two Giles players.

Lots of missed tackles, not sticking to assignments! Undisciplined and lack of attention to detail, very frustrating! Richlands will beat us easily if we can't do any better on defense. Caught a lucky break on interception right before half.

Cormany (basketball) is a real a$$ at Radford but he wins. Coaches these days seem as tho if they ain't buddy buddy with the players they will get the boot. Growing up a coach was never friends with any player at least where I'm from. Kids and parents need to suck it up cause football is a tough sport, and if the kid ain't tough he gets hurt. With that said I think he can find another gig pretty soon. Good coaches are hard to come buy these days.
