I think this game may be closer than most think. central has 3 solid backs that can run the ball well. They beat Union at their own game. Smash mouth ground and pound. Everyone had Union locked in once Lomax went down so obviously it was a Polier show. That’s not the key with Central. I picked Central last week in a non-upset, I’m going with them again this week. Good luck to both teams, I think it will be a great game to attend. Safe travels for Central players and fans.

I think as long as it not a deluge and very light , shouldn’t be much of an issue except for us old people (speaking for myself only) who hate sitting in cold & wet rain to watch high school football. Rain can make things interesting, that football gets slippery to hold on to...Marion was horrible last year but on turf not as bad as pastureland.

Fellas, I just finished watching Appo vs. Glenvar and I think whoever comes out of D has a good chance to beat Appo. I think the top 5 or 6 teams in D could compete with Appo and Gretna this year. They are solid and have a good defense, but Glenvar's offense is very vanilla. I like our chances boys!! Whoever comes out of D, we need to show up loud and proud down at Appo (or Gretna) next week.

He is from the Riverheads/Augusta County area. He shows up on here every so often in an attempt to stir the pot. Ignore him and he will go away!

Stuart's Draft is equally as tough in Region B as the two teams you mentioned in Region A.

I think what you say could be an advantage for Graham. Central.is young and they don't have the big playoff experience that Graham does. Young and hungry could work to Central’s advantage though I agree. We’ll see how they handle it. First ever Regional Championship game, that’s pressure and will they focused enough to not get caught up in the hype? Thus far, they’ve done well. They may surprise a lot of people and I definitely think Graham cannot take them lightly. I also believe the coaches at Graham won’t let their boys take Central lightly. Both teams well coached, hope it’s a great game with no injuries! Safe travels from Wise County!

On the FAVORITES THREAD most are picking Riverheads . I don't think they are that good . If GW can smack the Tide then they have a good shot at the Trophy !

I'm not ready to say Central wins but I do believe this will be a great game. The weather on Saturday could play a role in the outcome. After watching some of Central's game film I hope Graham doesn't take them lightly. They seem to execute well on offense and get to the ball in a hurry on defense. Should be a good contest. Rumors in big stone says he’s going to Richlands. Last year he was going to DB.

Never bothered me. I sit a few rows down in front of them. It sits on top of the fence and projects over the top. It’s not an issue

Graham will win big. Next year though look out for Central they will be team to beat in my opinion. Sorry Union folks as long as we have no passing threat we're not gonna be any better then this year. I hate to see Central on top but next 2 years are theirs in district play and maybe state.

I'm no fan of Ohio State but I'll cheer on Adkins if he goes there, lol. Gotta support our SWVA boys. Heck, I'm cheering for Purdue and VT these days.

All them bad eggs and not nary a championship to show for it.

Galax handles GW....again. The physicality of Galax will be too much for GW. I will get slammed for saying it but GW beat a very average to above average Narrows team. I know they were 10-0 but still just above average when looking at the big picture. I'm sure everyone will point to the success Auburn had early on in the game; remember they are a triple option team, which takes discipline out of all 11 guys on Galax defense, 1 or 2 guys making a mistake can cause big issues when playing an option team. Auburn has some skill guys and a QB that could read it well and make the plays giving them success early on. However, Dixon took care of those issues before the 2nd quarter and that was all she wrote. Narrows practically laid down mid 2nd quarter on and GW took advantage of a lot of Narrows mistakes. This game may be tight through the 1st half but I think Galax adjusts at halftime (if needed) and rolls by at least 2 td's if not more. Galax will then beat the winner of region D by 2 or 3 TD's; however they will get rolled by Riverheads in Salem by probably 3 TD's or more.

It’s still blowing .... lol! Just not quite as much. I actually think the train horn got the Graham fans fired up. We're normally not a rowdy bunch but there were cowbells, air horns, shakers, cymbals, and even some homemade noise makers. I was rather proud of our fans enthusiasm tonight.

no way Burton beats Chilhowie. Chilhowie has to many weapons on offense.Also, playing in the district Burton plays in makes them look better than they actually are so they aren't very battle tested. Chilhowie is 10x better than the next best team in the Cumberland other than Burton. May be a closer game but still think Chilhowie wins without much trouble.

I remember when the paper would have the top 5 or 10 in each district in each category hard to believe that they don.t keep up with that stuff anymore

I dont see Burton improving by 21 points I know that was a long time ago but Chilhowie has the experience advantage and a darn good coach that very rarely gets out coached. They will have a plan. I say Chilhowie but it will be closer than last time.
