First time poster long time reader i have a couple of nephews playing this fall at a few local teams I understand safety protocols and making sure as few people as possible are not potentially infected and so on and so forth But at what point do athletes and coaches stop going to get tested? i mean this isnt going away obviously so your choices are got get the shot, or stop getting tested, thats the only way to get some normal back

Because that is what the health department said we had to do because of close contact, I'd put money on it that we are not the only team this happens to. People can talk and spread rumors about it all they want but that doesn't make any of them true. The principal called parents today to explain it so I'll go with what I was told when he called and by what the coaches and players have said and were told.

I have stayed silent long enough. Bottom line for me is it is your personal choice if you choose to take it or not just as the flu shot is your choice. You know of the risk you take by either taking it or not taking it. I don't buy into all the misinformation or conspiracy theories in the least. I really hope for the sake of future cures/vaxs that these do work and show no long term side effects. There is great promise in the idea of the MRNA method. With all that said I know people that have died from it and many more that have recovered from it. I know a person right now that has been on a ventilator and is slowly slowly recovering. Don't know if he got shot or not. Either way my stance stays the same on my own personal choice. I'll use common sense and do my best to be vigilant to not spread any kind of sickness I might get. Anyway let's get this season started and get out to some games finally. Been to long to be missing them.

I heard yesterday from one of our assistants here at Radford the the Fort does have a JV team this year. They are scheduled to come to our place on September 9th for the JV contest. So, unless something has changed in the last 2 weeks since we nailed down our JV schedule, the Fort does have a JV team. FC had out 54 kids grades 9-12 and is now up to 57 kids 9-12 from what I was told by one of our assistants who has a background in Wythe County.

I think the rosters I saw for the green/white game had 18 on one team and 17 on the other I’d say given I think a couple of guys didn’t play somewhere between 35-40 is accurate

Rumor isn't true!!! Only one staff member or player tested positive so whole team has to sit out.

I WANT IT TO BE KNOWN that I did not encourage anyone to ban anyone and if I was consulted and the mods wanted my input, I would usually always be on the side of not banning basically anyone. It's sad we got to this place. This shouldn't have been politicized. And both sides are at fault. This should have been all of us coming together to protect each other because that's the human thing to do -- but we are barely humans at this point. We just want to fight and sling mud.

Troubling? Spoken like someone who has never served! The day you enter the reception station for Basic Training, they inject both arms and give you a dozen pills to take. I'm shocked they were given a choice to this point.

The battle lines for this were drawn when these vaccines were in Stage 2 of their clinical trials. Unless Jesus and Donald Trump hold a joint press conference encouraging people to get the vaccine, no public sentiment will sway the ~30% of "never vaxxers". The only thing that's going to get through to them is to have their father, mother, sister, brother, or child die from COVID-19. That's the ONLY way, and it's so disheartening. It took having my church's children's pastor die for my church's congregation to start giving a semblance of a damn about it. And I've known so many people who thought it was "just the flu" until they had to see the effects of it Clockwork Orange-style. People who get their "news" and medical advice from sites like americanpatriot.baldeagle.beatthelibtards.trump.us aren't going to listen to logic. They aren't going to look at how stark the difference in data is between vaccinated and unvaccinated people. They're only going to listen when they have to carry the casket of someone who died from it. Until then, the stronger their views can be marginalized for the worthlessness they are, the better. If not for that ~30% of the population, we'd have this thing in the rearview mirror. Instead, we have ~30% of the population brainlessly volunteering themselves to be the control group in this Machiavellian experiment, volunteering themselves to be the breeding ground for sneakier (if weaker) variants of COVID-19 that will eventually evolve to evade vaccines altogether. I'm growing weary of missing activities I used to enjoy and taking umpteen safety precautions to help protect people who don't give a flying fig about protecting me. I'll still do it, because I still love them, but I believe some righteous indignation is in order.
