There is no guarantee that Graham or Union will be in the Regional Finals. It was the 3rd game of the season for both teams. A lot can change between now and a potential re-match. Union beat Graham by 2 points just 2 years ago and Graham turned around and beat Union at their place by 39 points in the playoffs, so we can all speculate all we want, but a team can learn and grow a whole heck of a lot throughout the season. Graham's defense the past couple of season's has had a reputaton of getting better as the season goes along. I myself have been talking about how Graham's defense has "potential" to be very good. They have new pieces in place and are learning. The athleticism is there, when things click, I think they will be very good and I still believe that. Maybe Union blows Graham out next time (if there is a next time), but to draw conclusions from the 3rd game of the season is a little pre-mature (myself included).

IMO Stevie is should be the POY in region D that kid has done more for the VA high program in the last 4 years than any kid I have seen. Now that he has some help with a passing game he is even more lethal. He might be the hardest kid to tackle in the region because he is so hard to get a clean hit on him.

He is fun to watch. Not many kids today play the way he does.

Going by the radio, it seemed like Union had guys in the backfield on defense a ton too. Blevins is exceptional and escaped the pressure but the pressure was there.

He definitely wasn’t going in untouched. It looks like the ball popped out when 78 hit him.

If graham/gw game is off next Friday there is a solution. Bluefield is off on 10/1, GW off 10/8. Just flip flop weeks with beaver and gw games and everyone gets their games. It also lets Beaver and Pikeview play on 10/8 as originally scheduled instead of 10/11.

As true as it may be, usually goes to a skill guy. That would be a tough one with all the skill kids in the region but strength of schedule determines much of that. Looked like big man and #11 jervis create issues for anyone on both sides. The m7/sw is far above the rest in regD. Look at who the big games are coming against when stats are crazy good. On another note, it's not 1997 any more and defense isn't the same as far as hard-nosed high caliber players. POY- way too early and way too many kids to narrow it down. Glad to see vhs competing again, if they've got a decent defense, swd gonna be interesting.

The above statement you made is actually according to YOU, not me. So, instead of arguing, just do as you kind of did above...indirectly, but you got there and that is....give your opinion on it. I copied the point-your opinion from your post. I dig it.

For now. Tomorrow, it could be Spotswood, Hampton, EC Glass or TC Williams. Then after tomorrow, back to Rockbridge, or not.....

That would be an interesting matchup. However, GW should be able to go on October 1st. Sports are resuning at GW on Sept. 29th. I think it was LB that that cancelled with Bluefield also

Thats from 5 days ago. Game with Bluefield has been cancelled also according to district website. I hope the district site is wrong, but I doubt it. Athletic directors put those games in.

Lots of defenses dont want any part of him. Kid has worked hard to get to where he's at physically

I agree BigWinners. I do agree. Here's the thing in my opinion (only my take dude, just an opinion on a message board like anybody else), the second game, assuming the two meet again comes down to 2 things in my opinion which hinge some from game one to base a guess (only a guess). Two things happened with Union against Graham. Much of Union's yards, about 150 of the 400 came from things that Graham can fix in the film room and were not gashing, down your throat domination. About 250 of the 400ish yds came from gashing, down your throat, nothing Graham can do to fix it even if watching film. I think Graham fixes the 150 yds in the film room and Union WILL Gash Graham in the second game, but only some. They will not do it for 4 quarter and they didn't do it for 4 quarter in game 1. That gashing will not be enough to overcome Graham's offensive improvement, especially with the QB who is only getting better rapidly by the day. Now, this is just my take on it. A pure opinion, but I am giving some evidence to at least form my opinion which is what I was instructed to do in college years ago. I also admit and respect other's takes and admit I probably would be in a minority for picking these two in game two. There is lots of time between now and then, and things from injuries to Covid to upsets, but if the game were played today, I imagine most would probably pick Union and I respect that. I also agree 100% Union probably should have won the first game, but big plays are apart of the game and Graham is a big play team. But, because Union should have won the first game doesn't mean I'm picking them to win the second one. I gave my reasons (opinions like anyone else ) why. Just my take on it. Only a message board with another opinion and nothing more. Tons of time between now and then.

I think that they are trying to punish the team by taking away playing time. That won't happen if they forfeit to William Monroe. I think that they should forfeit both games.

I think the Devils will be unfucky Friday night. I'd say the Bears are mighty angry after that Graham mess. I see Union being very motivated and focused.

About the same as Union winning last year’s game against Graham while Graham had multiple players out and coming off a COVID pause.

Sources indicate this is a good possibility.

Almost positive that region D is taking top 4 from each district.
