Fred Phillips has resigned as head coach at Richlands, effective January 31st. Jim Graham will take over for the remainder of the season. Not sure what, if any affect that will have on how the SWD pans out. The season will be nearly over by then. Phillips last scheduled game will be against Graham at the Brushfork Armory.

Horribly officiated game. I usually have nothing to say as far as officiating. It’s a thankless hard job but it was pretty bad all around. When officials try to overly control the game calling so many fouls that probably weren’t fouls, they end up losing “control” of said game. It was getting pretty dicey near the end. Graham may or may not take SWD but I don’t look for them to go too deep in the playoffs regardless; unless they become much better shooters and ball handlers. They’re not a bad team but they’re not a great team either but they may take off & really improve. Just my opinion, others may disagree.

They got a late start and faced some pretty stout competition early on, they are looking much better then the first couple of outings. V-High may give them a run.

I don’t think people get too worked up about it. As a process oriented guy, I’m just curious if there is a method to the madness….especially when most of the voters have never seen the kids play personally. I’ve also been around this world long enough to know…most processes are ill defined, rarely audited/updated and due diligence is often not paid. Trust me I have much more pressing issues to get worked up about.

Wise/gate city fight has been coming for years. It’s the culture brought on by Scotty and TJ over the last 6-7 years. They didn’t like each other as opposing coaches and the players always fed off that. Truthfully though, nobody liked/likes TJ.

He watches every game ever played, I’m sure they all blend together after a while.

Is it really a brawl if the mama’s don’t charge the court and get in on the action? 😂

If we could stop having the Back of the Dragon Trophy, and by that I mean keep the game and ditch the incense burner, that would be great.
