  8. John Wooden could be a child's coach and the parent still would not be satisfied.
  9. If JV players play on the varsity it is my understanding that in Virginia they can not go back to the JV team. Is this correct?
  10. Graham's 10 opponents are the same except for one as 2022. Bluefield, Tazewell, Richlands, Union, Galax. George Wythe, Va High, Lebanon (replaces Blacksburg), Pulaski County and Marion.
  11. Bluefield and Graham have 3 home games that conflict. So there will be three games on Thursday. School officials at both are currently working tegether on that situation.
  12. James Monroe decided not to play when they dropped to Single A. The honest truth is neither prefers to be playing each other at this time but circumstances beyond either's control say that they have to until other schools more in line with each school's enrollment decide to play. Sometime necessity is the mother of invention.
  13. That is why I said technically. We all know how easy it is to use fake addresses.
  14. The city of Richmond's population is around 225,000. It is an independent city like Bristol and Radford. Technically anyone living in Henrico, Goochland or Chesterfield County would have to move into the Richmond City limits to go to John Marshall. Thomas Jefferson is now competitive in football because the City kids go there for football. Maggie Walker - soccer.
  15. Tazewell fulfilled their contract with Bluefield. Each are free to pursue other games at the end of the contract. Just like any other contract.
  16. Graham's schedule is complete. They have 10 games. Pick up Lebanon (back in the district) and lose Blacksburg. Dates are not set in stone as they have to work with Bluefield if both schools have home games the same weekend.
  17. Bluefield is working on the schedule. They don't discuss who they are working with until the games are contracted. Open weeks are 3, 5, 8, 9, 10, and 11. Only locked in games for 2023 are Graham, Princeton, Woodrow Wilson, Independence and Pikeview. Four of the five are home games so Bluefield would be open to travelling the first year of a contract. Bluefield has two contracts in the hands of possible opponents but they have not signed them as of yesterday.
  18. I agree. So trying to find Div 3 teams that are going thru tough times would be difficult.
  19. I see your point related points. But, for now, wouldn't it be better to not worry about points and just focus on building the program back up?
  20. Why do they have to be higher than division 2 and why do they have to be "teams that we can beat"?
  21. Same reason Tazewell and Richlands dropped Bluefield.
  22. The wins vs Bluefield, Mullens and Northfork from WV did not count because they were out of state which was the rule at that time. Hermitage finished with a 24.80 and Graham finished with a 23.57. Graham actually went into the Thanksgiving weekend leading the standings. But Hermitage played and won Thanksgiving Day and passed them in the standings. They were the only two eligible for the title due to the rule at that time that the title would first be decided among undefeated and untied schools. If everyone had a loss or tie then it would revert to the ratings of once tied schools, etc. Ironically, the same rule enabled Graham to win the 1962 state title in points because they did not count Graham's loss to Bluefield because it was out of state. Both Graham and Bluefield won their state championships in 1962.
