I wouldn't think they would but stranger things gave happened. I know their coach from Bland has been attending the Graham games to support them. He's a Graham guy himself I believe.

Clearfork is fine. Grapefield not so much, lol.

Living on Clearfork for sure would be a short drive, I can't stand all the curves over Grapefield but if you drive it all the time, I guess you get used to it. Speaking of, I heard golf course had been sold to Euphesia folks, going to make it a recreation area. Not sure if that's true.

If it means commuting over Grapefield, that's a hard no 😂.

31 is an all around athlete, only a freshman. He's going to be really good. 71 is huge & strong. Wonder why he'd wait until spring?

Not many to be honest, about 5 schools within the area. I'll truly be surprised if they have enough to field a team next year. If so, I'm not sure they complete the season. I'm not sure what can be done to improve their chances of having a team. I know they have teams at the little league level because they play Graham teams but I'm clueless how to transition that into a solid HS program in a county that size.

He & another player transferred right after the Bland program folded. He's been on team for several weeks now. Family relocated to Bluefield is my understanding from Bastian. The real question is if Bland has a team next year, do the two go back?

This has nothing to do with this thread but since we're inquiring about the whereabouts of Falcon man, can someone tell me the whereabouts of the meme thread? Was it deleted? I was looking today & maybe I just overlooked it. Some of those memes were hilarious.

Okay, lol! I feel like the coaches have the team focused on the task at hand. Marion may be better than their record indicates but in my opinion Graham will come out ready to make a statement. I could be wrong, GMen could put on a lackluster performance. I just highly doubt it. I'll guess we'll see. I'm just glad there's not going to be a deluge. Last game, was a mud bath there. You couldn't even tell the teams apart much less read numbers of jerseys.

It truly does make this Friday exciting. Anticipating some hard fought games.

Graham has improved but still plagued by penalties. In a close playoff game, that can cost a team. In my opinion their D line is best in recent years. O Line very strong too. Some great speedsters too. Special teams is getting better but still could use some improvements. I think the coaches and players deserve a lot of credit especially against VA High overcoming difficult circumstances. I’m hoping they stay healthy & injury free. As far as the match ups, I’m anxious to see how 1D & 2D finally shake out after Friday night. A lot of fun & new match ups possible!

I think Jones will definitely be the best athlete on the field but Brown will be possibly second best. I’m not sure if Richlands can stop Jones. He’s just an amazing QB and player. He’s got great ball sense. I know some will disagree but I think he’s probably overall the best QB in SWD. Dylan Brown has carried Richlands and can grind it out. I expect VA High to win but I wouldn’t be shocked if Richlands pulled out a close one.

I actually think some schools just decided which they were doing. According to VHSL, three choices for the schools that were canceled on: Take forfeit, No contest, or reschedule another opponent.

It sounds like the compliance officer is out of compliance in terms of professionalism.

So which teams are throwing this week’s game to get a more favorable match up in the region playoffs? 😂 Do you honestly think any of the coaches in the M7 or SWD would do this? Any coach worth anything would not do this purposely in my opinion.

I honestly can see this one going either way. Should be a heck of a game. What a great way for a district title to be decided, last game of the regular season-if it comes down to the last play of game like Glenvar & Radford, even better!! Love those type of games! Good luck to both.

I’m not disagreeing. Y’all had everyone back and I think everyone across the region expected for Ridgeview to be the team to beat with all the talent that returned. They still may end up being the team to beat but I understand where you’re coming from. Any abrupt coaching change usually upsets a team’s mojo especially if team/coach were a good fit.

I’m going to play devil’s advocate, maybe an outsider who has never watched Ridgeview play might argue an 8-1 team doesn’t really have a coaching issue. There are probably a lot of teams that would take that record regardless of who coach/coaches are & which players are or aren’t utilized. (I’m not saying this is my personal opinion, I’m just saying any random Joe just looking at the record might disagree with Ridgeview fans).

Apparently a lot is riding on this game for more M7 teams than just these two. Does Lee have a chance or will Abingdon bounce back from the thrashing Union gave them? I think it has the potential to be a barn burner. Who would have thought at Week 1 , Lee would be in this position?

If it makes y’all feel better, one official was trash talking some of the Graham players during the Pulaski game. I’m not excusing any inappropriate comments that might have been made on the part of the officer last night but adults often act childish. Coaches have to teach kids to rise above it & do their talking on the field so to speak. Adults should be better but unfortunately they sometimes aren’t.
