Never in a million years about 7 years ago would I have considered Mac would have become so popular that one day, Shaq would don a Devils Jersey and have Mac dunk over him. This is when you know.....Mac has made it, regardless of whether he plays a full season in an NBA jersey. He's made it in my opinion and hell be talked about in homes in SWVA 50 years from now for what he's done . Well done McClung!

But Union CANNOT afford to let Tazwell isolate Chandler in space and attack him with the slot guys down the field. He lacks the top end speed to cover faster guys. Move him inside and let Anderson play the slot guys. Or start Rey at DB, finally.

Union has been way too inconsistent this year to predict anything about this game. All I can do is hope for a win, 1 point or 20 points, doesn't matter.
Playing at the Park has to be worth a few points, I hope.

I just can't see Abingdon hanging with Ridgeview. Abingdon does have more numbers and more kids to choose from, but I just think the physical play from Ridgeview will let them come out on top in this one.

Talked to him after the game Friday night, said he was really sore, and a little swelling. He said he didn't think it was really serious!! He said he was going for a MRI today!! Prayers for him and hoping it is nothing serious, and he will get healed up and ready to finish out the season against Abingdon and Battle.

I'm not as frustrated with the defense as much as the offense.  On the defensive side the biggest issue is youth with 4-5 freshman playing most of the game.  Now on offense is where most of the frustration is with the play calling and not able to make an adjustment and of course no passing threat whatsoever

I don’t see anyone bashing #10, like I said I think he’s one of the most athletic kids in the Mountain 7! Does that mean he is the best option for QB?
I don’t think so, when James Mitchell played QB in the Wildcat when Turner got hurt that year, yes Mitchell was probably the most overall talented kid on the field at any game Union played, but that don’t mean you want him being your starting QB!
To whoever said, until Union shows a little passing game and shows teams they can complete a few and try to keep the defense honest, they will see 11 men in the box, with all 11 coming to stop the run with no worry at all about the passing game, is this #10 fault?? No definitely not, but at some point a few changes have to be made, or you will never make it past Round 1!
Id hate to see the Sykes kid leave, but as a 10th grader, that could start on most teams around here, I can understand the frustration, everybody says “oh he is young, and hasn’t had the experience at the varsity level”, are also the ones seeing 3 and 4 freshman starting as well, and I have no problem with freshman starting if they are 1 of the best 11 on the field!

If you go back and watch Graham game they where literally leaving a receiver uncovered on some plays because they knew Union couldn't throw.  Like we've mentioned its not bashing the kid he's just stuck playing a position he shouldn't be playing and he himself would probably rather be at another position.

Sykes showed he could throw the ball well in the Elizabethton scrimmage, and the GW benefit game.  I am taking nothing away from the current QB, the kid is an athlete and can make plays, but not from the QB position. Put him in the backfield or at WR and get him some touches, and let him make some plays. I agree he would make a difference on the defensive side of the ball as well, not scared of contact.  Cochran not on the field blows my mind, the kid put in a ton of work from last season to this season, and from what I heard had a excellent summer at the 7 on 7 games, and I thought for sure he would be out there on the defensive side of the ball.  Satterfield not touching the ball more than 4 to 5 times a game is just insane, Satterfield has blocked for every running back that he has played with and got his few carries here and there, and seems to always be getting tough yards, and running hard nosed, and BAM he no longer gets more than 4 to 5 carries a game.........
Not sure why Union took Zach Hall from center, he has been a starter at center his whole high school career if I am not mistaken, and Izaak Keith is stout at the MLB position, and had played on the line for a couple of years, and now he's not even playing offense. I understand that you want to keep as many kids from going both ways as much as possible,  but when the job is not getting done, it's time to suck it up, and put your best 11 out there, whether you have to have kids going both ways or not.  Sitting at 3-2, with Thomas Walker, Ridgeview, Abingdon, Central and John Battle left, you would think changes would be made, and the best 11 would be placed on the field, no matter whose mommy's or daddy's get their feelings hurt.

Exactly #10 can play all over the field just not QB.  It’s not 1980 you can’t win anymore just running 5 plays

GC is fundamentally sound, and is a much better team than they appeared to be against Richlands. Look forward to seeing how they match up with Ridgeview.
Union's coaches have to put the pride behind them and realize they need to make changes at QB. They have the talent to do so many things on offense IF they utilize EVERY weapon at their disposal. #10 would be awesome at receiver, RB(on jet sweeps, counters, etc) and could really be used at DB.

Better team won today. The end. For those who do not know the Graham quarterback has played the last 3 weeks with a hairline fracture in his leg. The kid is a warrior. He's been playing on heart and guts. Kid is a Graham legend in my book.

It's not just graham there's alot of bad play calling everywhere.  Look at Union they won't throw the ball if it's 3rd and 8.  Graham just has better athletes than anyone on region and can win on simple play calling but it does hurt when you play someone else athletic.  Should've beat Appo by 28 and would've lost except for special teams
