When I tried to give him the breakdown on how things worked down in SWVA he had to point out he had no clue about the area, how things worked down here, made it known he's from the Richmond area but now since basketball season is over he's trying his hardest to stay relevant pretending he knows the area and folks in SWVA now. I believe he's the real Sasquatch before I believe anything from him
Bull Crap. I said I didn't know the living arrangements of every kid in SWVA. I've been posting on here for 6 years about SWVA. I don't claim to know everything and that's exactly what I said. I'm getting sick of the personal attacks.

Hold up wait a minute dude you're all over the place you once lived in Richmond (I don't have a clue where you live now) claiming you know nothing about swva and how the area breaks down and now all of a sudden you know about the area, you know about the Compton kid and how hard she works man I'll believe there's still Santa before I believe anything out your mouth
Good, since I value your opinion so much..... Spent time in New Jersey too...but they invented these things called automobiles....about 100 or so years ago that sort of helped me get there. and flying machines too, they call those airplanes I believe there is an option on here to mute somebody. Try that...it would do both of us a favor.
Ho Ho Ho.

Seems like if Dad is the expert he should be coaching a team instead of coaching from the stands.
Her dad played professional baseball and has more knowledge in his pinkie finger then any coaching staff on this end of the state and apparently a lot more sense, then to try to put a kid at risk for injury

If it were me, I would have done the same thing. She has already committed to UNC and she plays an extremely difficult travel schedule. It's not worth risking your college career because your High School Coach values a win over a kids well being. I trust that decision in this case. There is nobody in this area that has worked harder at her sport then this young lady.

People don't coach to win the approval of the fans, they coach to make a difference in kids lives. The hell with what anybody thinks of them ...They should all be commended, if you like them or not .

Thanks, I wasn’t sure where it was , I just know he has Richmond, VA listed on his social media. I presumed it was in Richmond, thanks for clarifying.
It's one of those deals where if you live on the outskirts of Richmond, you still have a " Richmond " address. Gotta be in city limits to go to Richmond City Schools, however. The surrounding counties are Chesterfield, Hanover and Henrico. I'm pretty sure that there are "Richmond" addresses in parts of each each of those counties that are close to the city. Sort of like having a "Bluefield" address, even if you're not right in the city limits

Gotcha! Once again, John Marshall will benefit from Richmond’s open enrollment. If I’m not mistaken Manchester Middle School students would not be in John Marshall’s attendance zone. He’s talented kid but so was his brother. Some families just have athletic genes & definitely healthy work ethic.
Manchester Middle School is not in Richmond City, it is in Chesterfield County and part of the Chesterfield County School System. Bacot would have to move within city limits to be able to go to John Marshall.

He makes some great points about JM. I like the idea of going back to final four playoff series. I agree with him it was much more fun & drew in more people besides just team fans.
Agree

The guy in this podcast says it better then I can. Some really good insight on other things that the VHSL needs to change.

OK understood. SWVA does illegal stuff too it's just different caliber of athletes so nobody really cares. A big example Ollie and Charlie Carpenter you probably don't know either are siblings living under the same roof but both attend separate high schools about 40 minutes apart
For some odd reason, I don't know the living arrangements of every kid in SWVA.

You don't have a clue do you know how many kids are zone for dobyns Bennett but go to gate city and vice versa, do you know how many kids are zone for Va High but go to John Battle or TN High and the other way around, nothing is legit it's real easy to beat the system. Wise Central is recruiting like crazy, Trivette and the other best player just didn't wake up in abingdon they were recruited, everybody is recruiting but John Marshall is doing it better than everybody else, you act like it's the end of the world that a bunch of 14-18yrs old win class 2 state title
Those situations aren't close to what John Marshall is doing either. I did live in Richmond and worked in Petersburg, so I may know a little more about that situation. I know nothing about those other schools you are speaking of, you are right about that. It's comparing rotten apples and rotten oranges. I didn't claim either was the best way to do things...

Ty White getting ready to pull a Hayfield- be interesting how VHSL handles that if White goes to Petersburg & takes the team with him.
It'll be interesting to see, if that indeed happens.

The irony is that Graham fans are mad about a coach recruiting players and bringing them in from other schools. I mean....a bit of self-reflection? 😜
That being said, VHSL has to do something about John Marshall. At least the G-Men are relegated to two states and 3-4 county recruiting footprint.
Not close to the same thing. The city of Richmond allows kids from within the city to attend any of the city schools that they choose. There is no "attendance zone". The rest of the state has to have kids live in the attendance zone. So, to play for Graham, a kid must move to the attendance zone, with a parent. A kid in Richmond does not have to live within the attendance zone. Richmond is a big place with a lot of kids to choose from. So, basically the best basketball players from Richmond can play for John Marshall without having to move to an attendance zone with a parent. These kids transferring from other states can move anywhere within city limits. Anybody going to Graham or any other school in the state of Virginia for that matter, must live in the attendance zone with a parent and must provide proof of residence. Not the case in Richmond. That being said, rumor is that John Marshalls head coach or CEO.....whatever the hell he calls himself ...will be at Petersburg High next year and most likely there will be a lot of those JM kids going with him. It will be much harder for them to be eligible, they will have to move to the attendance zone with a parent. I expect some of them will not be able to legitimately make that happen.

I don’t think Todd Baker would do that although I’d love to see it. I’d just play keep away & hold ball as much as possible.
I'd say, give it your best and hold your heads High. Graham is representing their hometown. That other team is representing places from all over the Country. Graham is the winning team, no matter what the score ends up.

NFHS is in fact broadcasting from Radford University. No sound as of yet, but video feed is up

Floyd posted it on NFHS, but it says Floyd, Va as the location ...so that will probably show an empty gym. I would search VHSL on NFHS and see what pops up.

It's not just soccer. Fans are getting worse at every venue. As a soccer fan, this sort of behavior can't be condoned and I applaud the officials for taking a stand.
