  1. Except for the Graham - Bluefield game. If you park back near Bowen Field, good luck getting out before everybody else leaves. (Of course that's the only game with 10,000 plus in attendance there).
  2. The Bristol Herald Courier does a good job of covering weekly matchups in far SWVA. Both online and in print.
  3. Bluefield will be scrimmaging Staunton (VA) at Greenbrier East @11:30 on Saturday the 12th followed by Graham vs Greenbrier East @ 1:00.
  4. Hate that for him, that's a big blow for Bluefield.
  5. If we are talking football, there are a number of great uniforms, if we are talking sports in general, then "Average Joes' Dodgeball uniforms (the alternate ones) probably rank up there pretty high....
  6. That seems more reasonable.
  7. Yes, should be over 50 by next week and nearly 30 jv players.
  8. I will make a bold prediction that this thread will get back to making bold predictions.
  9. I like the grass field at Tazewell, the stadium needs some upgrades, however.
  10. Thanks. Didn't know where to put it. But, I think kids will take more pride in their schools if they look nice. Having good athletic teams helps too. Plus, I thought it would be cool to have a thread for just random stuff that pops in our heads... I would love to see an upgrade to Tazewells stadium sometime too. I think nice facilities attract kids to play. The field house at THS is really nice, would like to see improvements to the stadium.
  11. I wonder how much it would cost Tazewell County to pressure wash the High Schools? They are in need of a good cleaning. Perhaps the local fire departments could hose them down and get some practice in at the same time?
  12. Please post #s for the first days of practice for your teams. This is something that we normally post each year. More then expected, about what expected, etc... Good numbers usually indicate a strong program. Interested to see articles on trams first practices too, if you have any good links, please post them and save us old fogeys the effort and eyesight of searching
  13. I would say Graham at #1 clearly. Tazewell has a good group of athletes returning and should be #2. Even with the loss of Cassius Harris, the passing game for Tazewell should be very good. They have a couple of good running backs, how good will depend on the lineplay. The qb played with a hurt shoulder last season and took a bit of a step back from his freshman season. Hopefully, he will be healed up and ready for another strong showing. I would protect him at all costs. I wouldn't have him running the option. V-High and Richlands next tier and Lebanon and Marion bottom tier would be my estimation.
  14. Lol. I'm sure that dude is on top of things.
  15. Here we go again.... First the Graham Haters, next up the Tazewell bashers. ...
  16. Completely Agree with this. I have the same feeling about 5 & 6 that you have about 2 & 3, could happen, but not likely.
  17. Anybody know when Bluefield's homecoming will be?
  18. I don't think the QB will play both ways for Graham this year, I believe the starter will be a sophomore, they should be well represented on defense. But yes, in the past, the best player at the position has played for Graham, it seems.
  19. Well, we may never get to see those 2 kids on the field at the same time. Wish they could play on the regular season.
  20. Although, I agree with you most of the time, I believe this year's Graham team will be just as strong as last season. Certainly quite a bit stronger then most of the teams they will face. The dedication that Graham has in the off season and the conditioning program is something that all area schools should strive for.
  21. But you can teach a bunch of 260 to 300lb linemen and 200 to 230 lb linebackers to bench over 300 lbs and deadlift over 500 lbs and play lights out defense.
