  1. Being a UVA fan, not sure you have ever had a chance to use that word! Hokies 4Life!
  2. Thanks for the tip Redtiger!
  3. TW is definitely has the best sports programs in Lee County, even though I am told all of the politics of the county favors Lee High. It seems Lee has nicer facilities and more money at their disposal. Not sure why. I know Lee has to play their 5 or 6 district games each year. Has Lee started charging teams to play them for the remaining 4 or 5 games each year? You know how the D1 schools pay the 1-AA schools to play just so they can get some easy wins?? Maybe that's how Lee has nice facilities. I would say the coaches at Lee see more Homecoming Queens crowned each year than anybody else in the state.
  4. Big Winners, TW was dominant during the Cody Cain years. Not sure what years that was but that is when Brian Lee had the train rolling down the tracks. 3 District titles is pretty good. Lots of other schools would like to have that. As far as TW not having been successful before, I think they had some dominant teams during the 90's. You seem to have lots of records at your disposal, check on TW vs Appy during those days. I think they met a few times during the playoffs and TW gave them all they wanted (with Brian Lee on the staff I might add!). TW might have been the second best team in the state during those days. As far as Lee High losing 4 times to Burton, no surprise there! Heck, you and I could go get 9 people from Heritage Hall to play with us and probably beat Lee High! The Lee High job reminds me of the movie Hoosiers when that lady in the movie was talking to Coach Dale. She says "If anybody comes here, they are either running away from something or they've got no place else to go." Going to be tough to get anyone to take that job.
  5. Yeah Beamerball, Brian struggled his first couple of years at Lee. He got some experience and went to TW and ruled the district. Heck, you didn't see Burton trying to move into the Cumberland with Brian was coaching at TW. Not sure how true it is, but I was told he was offered a job as Def Coordinator at Maryville during his run at TW. He told George Quarles he didn't play second fiddle to anyone. Like I say, just what I was told but I can see it. Anyway, OldCat's rumor didn't come true. Still waiting to see if my sources are correct! I also heard if Brian gets the job, the money men in the county are going to install a turf field.
  6. I heard that name you were talking about OldCat74 last night at work. It just didn't pass the sniff test to me. Why would he leave the job he has now to come to Loserville, I mean Lee High (sorry to the 4 remaining Lee High fans!) I googled his name and came up with an article talking about how great his new job is. He said at his old school he was the janitor, strength coach and the trainer. The new school has all of that. Why would he want to go back to doing all that? Not sure who started the rumor but it just didn't make sense to me from the start.
  7. Who have you heard Oldcat? Maybe Tim Johnson an old Lee assistant coming back?
  8. Good point Union Fan. Maybe Old Cat will spill the beans soon and let us know! My sources say one thing. His say another. Time will tell but in my honest opinion Brian is the right man for the job. So what if his past couple of jobs didn't go as planned? He won 3 district titles at TW. Give him the players Lee had thru the years and it would have been 3 state titles.
  9. Adams might do good if he could get his daddy to help him.
  10. Is Mance wanting to come back to the area? Maybe Colobro out of retirement? The old guy from Haysi? The guy from Clintwood? Maybe Jeremy Pruitt? There is a McDonald's in town where he could get bags to help recruit the players away from Union!!! I still think Brian Lee has the best shot from what I am told. If it happens, just remember you heard it here first!
  11. Considering how fast coaches are fired at Lee, who would trust them enough to leave a good job and come be the head coach? One would have to consider that before taking the job.
  12. So what you are saying Falconfan1 is that the Lee High job is going to be like the Tennessee job? Fans want it fixed overnight and it is going be an ongoing rebuild forever? Lol. Just messing with you. All kidding aside if lots of players are going to Union, somehow the new coach needs to get them to stay home.
  13. This isn't Brian. I just knew he had won some district titles at TW. Didn't know about the Eastern Montgomery stuff. I didn't mean to rub anybody the wrong way. Just throwing out what I heard. Where is the person from you are hearing about OldCat? Just know that it will be hard to get anyone to take that job. Brian seemed to do alot at TW with not a lot to work with. As far as John Battle, not sure what happened there. Heck, even Bobby Petrino (Falcons) and Nick Saban (Dolphins) left jobs early. It happens sometimes.
  14. Well if it doesn't involve Brian Lee, there will be a lot of unhappy people. He had a spectacular run at Thomas Walker. Several district championships. If he would have had another player or two, possibly some state championships.
  15. Rumor is that several prominent Lee County businessmen are making a move to make Brian Lee the next coach. They think he return Lee High to the glory days.
