Just was thinking what a great set up that would be.  I know it wouldn’t happen but we can speculate the teams and outcomes if it did.  Who wins and why??

This one surprised me as well as I expected a close game.  How was VHS able to shut down PH on offense? I thought PH would pound the rock.

Why not a Region D All-Star against Region C All-Star? That would be some great talent.

Ridgeview's undoing will be their discipline and egos.  They are talented enough to beat any team around here but they know they are, if that makes sense.

Very good on this side. The QB ability to run is what I feel makes them most dangerous. I see this as Graham’s toughest challenge. I hesitate to pick a winner, and things will become clearer as the season progresses. If pressed, I would pick Graham; but not as confidently as I would preseason. 

Is there any better comparison for this game at this point in time than Alabama vs Tennessee?  Grahamabama fans know they will win but are very cordial and head patting to the Tennessee Bulldogs. “ I hope we play our game.” “ I’m concerned about X.”  Meanwhile the Tennewell fans “We look great.  We’re Back. I see an upset.” 
Hope springs eternal this time of year.  As much as I’d like to see the Dogs win, Grahamabama rushes for 200+, doubles Harris…gives up some big plays but wins by 14+.  Lord help this board win Tennewell does beat the Crimson Tide…..er G-Men.

Only 1 charter bus so only 55 can travel including coaches. Cheerleaders are bringing upperclassmen separately. Band can’t make it. No fan bus but they’re are plenty of people carpooling on the way up. 
 
It’s an expensive trip. But the kids are excited. I know I would be if I was in high school getting to travel, stay overnight & play a bigger school from the eastern part of the state.  
 
I think as adults we take for granted stuff like that. There are some kids that don’t get to take trips, stay in hotels & get fed multiple meals per day. Regardless of the outcome of the game it should be a lasting memory for them. 

The M7’s version of Tazewell vs Richlands except maybe a bit nastier and even strength since it’s inception. Central upset RV in the Fog Bowl sending a very talented RV packing early and RV repaid the favor last year upsetting Central twice.  The last six meetings have been 3-3 and 1-1 in the playoffs.  A couple of years ago these two little league’s played a game and the coaches literally threw down in the handshake line and earned a spot on Good Morning America.
Dont be surprised if Central pulls an upset and don’t be surprised if the Pack runs the score up in a victory.  Grundy revealed some of the Packs deficiencies and I’m betting Central goes all in on them.  Who ya got?

The Pack can’t turn it over on their 2nd, 3rd and 4th possession consecutively against anyone else on their schedule.  They scored on their first possession on one play and I believe they scored on every other possession except the victory formation possession.  That sums up the Pack.  Crazy to watch.

It's no surprise that Grundy got some yards on the ground against the Pack, they have a decent O line, but the closeness of the score was a bit of a shock.
Central will be better than Grundy, but the question will be if they have the talent to stop Ridgeview's passing attack. Can the pack avoid all the mistakes they made Friday night?
Just because it's Central, Ridgeview will be ready to play.

Wondering how long it would take to turn on Tarter. Richlands fans, especially all the moms and dads, don’t want to hear it, but the talent is just not there, and I’m not throwing off on the kids either, it just is what it is.
There’s not a living, breathing coach anywhere that can make Richlands dominate in football. I hate it, especially since the kids work so hard and have unrealistic expectations thrown their way. It starts from a weak youth program and the fact that all the talent that Richlands used to attract is going to Bluefield. 

Union is good. I never understood why everyone was so quick to anoint Ridgeview the top of the M7 this year. Union doesn’t just get bad because they graduated a couple guys. The coaching and the system they have in place will keep them at the top of region D every year. 

Gents- my apologies for no updates but I left my phone in the car at the game and couldn’t post.  Ridgeview/ Grundy.  Lots to unpack.
First, RV’s Dline is undersized.  It showed tonight and that will be a problem against Union and potentially next week against Central.  Not sure they can overcome that….they just aren’t a big team, especially for 2D.
Second, they don’t seem to play with energy.  Noticed it last year when I watched them. 
I still think they have the best set of skill positions in 2D….not sure that’s enough. Don’t see them getting out of the region.

Now, the positive stuff.
After three consecutive turnovers and a horrible first half they made good adjustments at the half and turned it on and dominated the second half.  Not really a two score game as Grundy scored late and Ridgeview went into prevent offense on last two possessions.  Probably should have been 41/48 to 20.
This is a great prep came for Central.
Final note- The RV fans and Dads almost rioted at this game and I don’t blame them.  I can’t say I’ve ever seen a game so horribly one sided in terms of calls.  You had to be there to see it.  I have never seen anything like that and I’m in my 50’s and have played and watched alot of football.  Before anyone says “that’s just Grundy” ….no, this was really abhorrent reffing.  

Maybe that Mance guy knows what he is doing.  😂 It is a dang shame he didn’t get another title at Richlands.

In the nearly 300 games Mance was in Richlands, the Blues were shut out 7 times. 
In the post-Mance era Richlands has been shut out 4 out of 19 games. 

I think it will be a more competitive game.   I’d like to see JB pull it out as well but at the end of the day VA High has a couple of playmakers and Battle doesn’t have that yet.
