Off topic a bit, but Claiborne was the 3rd highest ranked recruit that Wake Forest has ever signed

Ouch.  He did ask, though.  Richlands seems to be in a rough patch after the softball title a few years ago.  Not sure why they aren’t more competitive in the other sports.

Think the drama on the ridge has played a part with a couple of kids but seems to have died down. There were some crazy things going around a couple of months ago, man.  Maybe the new guy has got them going in one direction.  Just verifying that it wasn’t a rumor.  For what it’s worth… uncle is close with the kid and thinks he should stay at RV. Said someone wasn’t happy with how RV has done things past year…..don’t know if that was kid or the dad.  Next time I see him I’ll ask about it, but Id bet they stay.

When he was at Pound, he ran the same I formation stuff that Rick Mullins ran at Clintwood.  The one year he was at Central, they ran rocket sweep and variations.  I'd say he will stick with wing. It's been successful thus far, plus the JV and Middle school teams run it. I'd say you'll see more screens and draws, something ti slow down the d-line,  which was missing for the last few years.

For the rest of us it isn’t yet here we are.  Personal bias is a helluva drug. O’Quinn was selected over Creasy for Region D honors (voted on by the coaches) as well as Kingsport Times and Bristol Herald Courier staff writers.  O’Quinn took a Ridgeview team that not much was expected of (4th in M7) and took them to Region D final where for 2 quarters they put a serious knot in Graham’s throat.
O’Quinn has a stronger arm, is much more of a dual threat and doesn’t have a hitch in his throwing motion.

RV can’t hold it together season to season and it appears they are moving on  to different offense.  I’m not sure betting on them is smart money.  Their intangibles seem to stink.

lots of rumors flying past few months about todd,   spreading rumors is not the way to treat people or your program or your school system.  if true they should have been address, if not people need to stop,

Dylan Brown from Richlands returns at RB.  For K/P: Onate (Central) and Bandy (Richlands) are head and shoulders above everyone else and are  offensive weapons. On the punt side : Bandy and Beavers (Ridgeview) were All-Region and return.  Bandy is a traditional punter and Beavers is more of the rugby style.  Richlands continues its trend of an excellent kicking game.

Did Tim have the last time a SWD team won a state championship in basketball?  I’m thinking the M-7 has close to 10 of those  in the last decade and by four different teams.

The animosity is towards the topic of this thread I believe.  Look at the title!  No one who knows the M7 isn’t surprised by the fact that 3 SWD teams won last night.  Apparently he is though.  It’s not the M7 teams fault that typically, year in and year out, is better from top to bottom than the SWD is.  No one, that I’ve seen, has came into the region sayin the M7 was going to sweep the first round.  The only team this year is Union.  M7 is down and it showed last night.  Great job to the teams that won and good luck the rest of the way.

One big job, if rumors are true, may be coming open soon... Hope it's not true, but the rumors won't die, so there's that.

Don't think they're listed as part of the area represented on this board, but the Blacksburg job has been very quiet. No rumors or anything that I'm aware of.

I would imagine their 2nd option would be interested in Lebanon and that may be slowing things down, but that's just a guess. Between the two id pick Lebanon, Red over Orange every time!  but seriously the Lebanon opening muddies things some. Seems like this is a record year for open jobs in SWVA, and more could come open

Walker Lester, Ridgeview (OL/DL).kid is jacked, super strong and likes to mix it up with anybody and everybody.  The Sneed kid from Union perplexes me……built like a D-1 kid right now but doesn’t seem to take over games…..he might blow up this season.

Beat me to it.  We have a pro franchise that actually has the same color scheme.  You could put a cool “M” inside the hurricane logo.  Or just go with a “M” that looks like it’s leaning into the wind/storm.
