  1. Do you mind to share the entire Southwest district team with us (whats left anyway lol)? Or tell me where to find it. Thanks
  2. Saw where lee shared that roop and Hammonds made first team and mooneyhan had made second. Three good choices for lee in my opinion. I didn’t figure they’d have anyone above second team, but glad they did. List must be out there somewhere.
  3. Yes, I believe you’re right. I’m sure I’m leaving out a couple of other great guys from the the first few years that lhs was opened. I am getting too old to remember back that far! I remember their abilities, just can’t remember all of the names. The level of talent was out of this world back then and it remained top notch until around the early 2000’s if my memory serves me correctly. Not putting anyone down that came after. I just feel like it is a different for world now and MOST kids are not the same.
  4. Browning Wynn, Eric Satterfield, Mikey Hughes, lw Calton honorable mention: Leon brewer, Tyler graham, Randall lefevers, Jeremy Pendergraft, Brandon calton
  5. Definitely a close one. Don’t envy the coaches making the decision between the two of them. I came to say that my pick would be Hill, then I started thinking and changed my mind to Beavers. Still not positive. Can they have two? Seriously? I’d have to call it a tie if I made the decision. I feel like beavers is the more hard nosed of the two, but hill is more technically skilled. Both great players overall.
  6. With the number of kids at lhs vs tw and the amount of travel ball that I’ve heard that the lee kids have been playing over the years, how are they losing to a smaller school like tw? I know last season wasn’t the most successful for them either. Has tw got that much talent? Is the talent down that bad for lee? (I don’t think so because I know they have great talent in kids like hammonds and Leonard). Is it coaching or are numbers down that bad? Or am I missing something else? What is happening?
  7. This should be a great game. It’s hard to decide logistically since both have many returning. I don’t know that RV imploded so much last year as Palmer adjusted and RV couldn’t hang. But this year could be different. Plus another year or experience, particularly for OQuinn could make the difference. Weather really could also make a difference in RV’s passing game as well. Then of course RV’s coaching decisions are so unpredictable. I just can’t decide how this one will go. Winner is gonna have to bring their A game. No room for many mistakes, penalties, etc…. All these IF’s are what makes high school football so frustrating and exciting at the same time. Hoping I get to attend this one. Not even sure who I’ll root for at this point. Can I sit in the middle somewhere????
  8. And if they don’t make that cut just add your players names to the final all district list anyway and post to Facebook like it’s real. Or at least thats what a team I usually support with the initials l.h.s. did last year ha. And the only “explanation” I heard was “that’s the team without Abingdons players.” Whaaaa? Abingdons part of m7. Don’t work like that no matter how bad ya want it to.
  9. Agreed. Too many with pie schedules outside of their district/region games that use big stats gotten against smaller or weaker teams to say their guys best. And Creasy would get my vote too but It’s this sort of thing mentioned above that makes me question myself.
  10. LPD you sure know specifics on lee’s qb for someone who’s a bear fan ha. Anyway yeah you’re right there, we had good yardage on gc and central. there was a hefty number of attempts at those games but whatever. I’m not putting anyone from lee down. They’re miles ahead of what they were and I’ll give credit where it’s due. But that’s just it, some of our fans want to act like their kids are heisman hopefuls and it gets old. Alls im saying is when we’re getting big yardage (passing AND running) on teams like rv, union, and Graham instead of small or weak teams like PH, rye cove, and battle (while our starters are in almost the entire game) then I’ll also believe that we can pull of the win Saturday. I hope I’m wrong. I want these boys to make me a believer. I’m closer than I was last year, but not all the way there yet. I just want it to be the real thing. Not having to play small teams, running up the score and padding our stats on said small teams, and making up honors so we can brag. sorry got on my soapbox ha ha. but like I said, I’ll give credit where it’s due and I gotta say that a one kid that has absolutely blew my socks off is early. I can’t believe he’s only a freshman. Roop is another. I don’t think gets the credit he deserves.
  11. Have all the local playoff games been moved to Saturday? Hope not so I might be able to catch more than one. Also hope everyone gets healthy soon. Was looking forward to seeing the union and gate city rematch. If the bears are healthy I believe they’ll leave with the W.
  12. Yeah, I tend to agree with the last couple posts as bad as I want us to win. On one hand, I get that coach Carroll put some weaker teams on the schedule to help build confidence and get the fans something to be excited about again. On the other hand, I’m afraid that dominating a bunch of small and/or weaker teams is gonna cost us now. I keep seeing our players getting things like “player of the week” but of course it’s when we ran or threw on the smaller or weaker teams we talked about above. You didn’t see us getting that kind of yardage against teams like ridgeview or union, because we’re just not that caliber yet. I think we’re going the right direction and it’s gonna be close though. Relieved we aren’t playing rv, Graham, or union in the first round bc we definitely wouldn’t stand a chance there. Also, interested to see these QBs in the same game. I’m thinking Pendergraft isn’t even gonna compare to jones.
  13. Dang, I didn’t realize battle was in that bad of shape. I was surprised to see them come out and score first though. Carroll is going a good job with lee and he’s definitely doing a good job offensively, but dang ever heard the phrase “kicking them while they’re down”?? I wasn’t too impressed by the fact he waited til he had an almost 50 point lead before he put his second string in. We know how it feels to have the kind of seasons they’re having. Besides our younger guys need some time on the field too. But hey, we got our stats up on a weak team so I guess that’s all that matters.
  14. I think it’ll be respectable but central will still come out with the win. I hope I’m wrong though. The huff kid is a good athlete and does a good job, but his big games are usually against the smaller or slightly weaker opponents. I’m waiting for him to have one of those high yardage games against a tougher team like ridge view, Graham union, etc. Not putting the kid down, just saying that’ll make me a believer. Same thing with lees qb. Good athlete and solid qb but just not up to the level of others in the region like oquinn. Lee has talent though. some good receivers and I still can’t figure out why the roop kid doesn’t get his hands on the ball more often. He’s impressed me every time I’ve got to watch him. Don’t know much about central other than what I saw on tv last week. Definitely not as strong as they were last year. Scrappy and didn’t give up though. Union had so many penalties and dumb mistakes in the beginning, they made central look better than they probably are. Probably should’ve won by more than they did honestly. And Bbn I agree, central definitely didn’t help themselves doing that crap either. Gonna be a close one. 21-14 central
  15. Agree with everything you say except that Lee’s offense has what it takes to upset a team like Union. Not dogging their boys and I understand they’re young, but their big accomplishments thus far have been against weak teams or a decent team’s second string. When they have a big night against RV, Abingdon, Union, etc. and it doesn’t happen in the second half after their first string has came out, I’ll be a believer too. I hope you’re right, man. I’d love to see Lee be competitive again. I just don’t think they’re quite there yet.
