  1. Ah. Yes. Been there. Close to Virginia Beach. Rough area. I was thinking of the Hampton in Carter County. Very good program.
  2. Are you talking about a different Hampton than the one I’m thinking of?
  3. Welcome all high school football fans. As you don’t actually play the game, just watch. Athletes and coaches are the only ones who matter in the end. We are fans who are watching.
  4. Quite frankly that is a twisted way to think about it. If the city owns the stadium and you all just rent it, then you all don’t get a say. Get over it.
  5. The way I see it, Graham may pay a bundle to use it every season. But I didn’t see the harm in—who’s the town? Bluefield?—allowing this team to use it for ONE evening to practice on. From the looks of things it doesn’t appear to have given this Appomattox County TOO much an advantage. I’ve seen videos of both teams this year. Both have speed. Appomattox County has more discipline. Don’t be surprised if some key penalties will decide the outcome.
  6. I think Appomattox has a good chance. If Graham can stop with the holding and senseless penalties then they win. If not then Appomattox may make them regret it. Flags can kill you if you get too many. It’s part of the game.
  7. I say this as a neutral observer: Both programs need to get that fixed if it’s such a problem. Those holding penalties will do nobody a bit of good.
  8. People in Virginia Beach are jerks. I’ve had bad experiences with them. Having said that, take a look at Kempsville’s recent program history. They were on a 63 game losing streak. Now they are a 1 loss team playing in the 3rd round of the playoffs. It’s hard not to pull for a team who has done a 180 like that.
  9. I love to see Unicoi County do well. Hated that they lost a couple of heart breakers. But I am not butthurt. I didn’t rub it in to Happy Valley fans or Cloudland. It’s just a game. I don’t live my life through their success. Even with the Vols. I’m damn happy and proud of the Vols. But if they were 1-9 instead of 9-1 I’d still be proud of em. My overall happiness does not depend on their success. If it did then I’d be a Bama fan 🤣😂. Lol but in all seriousness, it’s just a game. The point is: don’t base your happiness on K-12 sports.
  10. If there was a closure half the entitled parents would throw a fit. They’d throw a fit if they didn’t close. You had parents saying they “homeschooled” their kids during COVID when they were just virtual. Parents probably didn’t provide them with one iota of instruction except for saying “Did you log in and do your work?” “Yeah I did.” “Good job.” Then when it turns out they didn’t and have an F for that reason then the parent would be raising cane with the school. Kids today have no more a problem than 50 years ago. The only reason it feels that way is because their parents won’t be their parents. They’re just their pal.
  11. Chest thumping over a high school game eh? Sad. Do you live your life through high school football?
  12. Drugs are all over the place dude. I don’t think I-26 would have changed it. We have drugs in Unicoi County.
