What a win by the Pioneers. Down 5-2 in the top of the 7th when Chance Parker hits a 3 run homer to tie it up 5-5. In the bottom of the 7th Boone had bases loaded with 1 one out. Lebanon escapes the inning with a double play to leave 3 stranded and to force an 8th inning. Lebanon out scores Boone 6-1 in the 8th (with another Chance Parker HR, a double) to win the game 11-6.

I had no regard at all for soccer. And then I went and watched a match one evening because nothing else was going on. I had a death grip on the seat by the end of the match and was astonished with the stamina of the players. It's just different. Not my favorite by any means, but still fun.

Any word on how this scrimmage went?

It’ll be an absolutely sad day in Lebanon if Mike Reece actually transfers given how much the community loves him and supports him. There has been more talk in the community about how awesome Reece is in this past week than I’ve seen about another student athlete in a long time. Nobody in Lebanon wants him to go. That’s for sure. Obviously want what’s best for the kid, though.

I agree. I think Chilhowie has a shot to upset Union. It’s weird how teams match up. West Ridge beat Union, but Chilhowie beat West Ridge. Some good ball ahead of us for sure.

Lebanon gets the win over Eastside 60-54. Lebanon has an issue holding leads. They were up by 19 at one point and let Eastside come back and tie it. Lebanon did have two seniors sit out tonight. Virginia High beat Abingdon 59-58. They shot a free throw with 0 seconds left. Abingdon was down by double digits and came back and tied it.

Galax only has 1 single a loss to Grayson County, which was in the regular season. They beat Grayson County in the second round of the playoffs. The other 3 losses come to Region 2C champ Radford, 2C runner up Glenvar, and 2D champ Graham. They should be taken seriously.

Rural Retreat comes off of a win against Patrick Henry. Lebanon, who began their season 0-3, beat John Battle and has now won three straight. This game is also homecoming for the Pioneers. How do you see this one shaking out?

Lebanon has three red zone possessions with 0 points. Had their chances to make this game close tonight.

How does this one turn out?

Central’s varsity scored 4 total touchdowns. Lebanon scored 3. Reece threw the ball a lot, and threw for all three of Lebanon’s touchdowns. Central had some success running and throwing. Their qb is very fast. Both defenses gave up some big plays, but had promising moments as well.
