Just my opinion having lived in the Roanoke/Botetourt area for a decade. 
Harless runs a tight ship. He doesn't tolerate outside noise. He's a disciplinarian. His program will speak with one voice....his!!!  I don't foresee him allowing spectators or 73 assistant coaches on the sidelines. He's as close to a throwback to the 80's football coach as this area will have in this day and age. He'll win state championships at Union if the locals get out of his way and let him do his thing. 
Will they? Time will tell but changes will take place. Whether the locals like it or not.

Grayson wins, then wins over D, then returns for a rematch against Essex and gets beat worse than they did last year, but I hope GW beats Grayson. 

I was in Wal-Mart parking lot in Midlothian in a state vehicle with my partner on our lunch break, and a hooker came right up to me and propositioned me. I'll be honest props to her brave arse for rolling up on me, but the hilarious part was my partner was talking to his wife on the phone. She was the jealous type and when she heard a woman's voice, she went ballistic. He's saying "I swear to God hun. It's a hooker and Lewis is telling her to GTF on. I looked at him and said "Next lunch break...Short Pump...Rocco's ":) LAST time we stopped anywhere in the city.

No scoreboard. You'd think at least in playoffs...

Just like I've never seen a school's alums so desperate to kill their own school everytime their football program is in down cycle.

Absolutely, I loved that format. Yea it required more travel but you’re not playing against the same damn team every year. 

I am not usually one to point anyone out on a message board, but sometimes positive contributions need to be recognized. Not a soul knows how difficult it is to coach unless you are in those shoes with 15-17 players, with not enough to even run full speed practices. Coach, you sure haven't done all that you have at Twin Valley for money, or because you enjoy tackling insurmountable challenges at your age. I know you see this board, so I just wanted to recognize your contributions. If it weren't for you and those who helped you over the years, these kids wouldn't have had the chance to play this game that we love or had the chance to learn such important life lessons that this wonderful sport teaches. My son when he arrived at practice day 1 at Emory and Henry was amused at the players griping about the rigors of Coach Newsome because he played on some teams that faced the adversity that defines a man's character. Character is never defined during times of ease and comfort. Character is defined during struggle. Coach you have taught these kids the value of passion and perseverance, and that matters so much more than wins and losses. I love ALL of our kids in SWVA. I take pride in the toughness that we display to survive in this rugged land. We get looked down on and forgotten by the rest of the state, so I will always be a champion for our kids. I know that I am not alone in this. Thank you coach for standing in the gap for these kids. If you ever forget folks about how much he cares, watch Crig's reaction in week 1 at Castlewood after the Panthers won the game:). I know that Coach Crigger will be coaching baseball at Southern Gap, and I assume that Coach Tester will have him on his staff. He will have so much fun coaching 11 vs 11:). I just thought some recognition (although he's humble enough to not seek it) was warranted.
